Mr. Ted Shepard
City Planner
City of Ft. Collins
281 N. College Ave.
Ft. Collins, CO 80522
Dear Ted,
The Colorado Dept. of Transportation is resubmitting it's development proposal for a
portion of the East Vine Streets Facility P.U.D. The required plan revision sets and the
returned redlines are enclosed. Please refer to the enclosed copy of Muller Engineering's
letter to me for item by item responses to the staff comments to our original submittal.
Additional responses to the city's June 10, 1998 comments letter are as follows:
* Item 2
Because funding for building construction is uncertain at this time, CDOT will
coordinate requirements with the Light and Power Utility when funding is in place and
the needs are better defined.
* Items 6-a, 6-b, 6-d and 7
Due to the interrelationship of CDOT's project and the City of Ft. Collins' proposal to
develop a Salt -Sand facility on the contiguous lot there has been close coordination with
Jack Gianola, project manager for the city's project. These items also concern the city's
project and Mr. Gianola has met with several city staff members to discuss them. The
resulting agreement was to delete the requirement for landscaping, sidewalk, curb -gutter
along the access road from Linden St. It was also agreed to allow vinyl clad chain link
fencing, and relocation of the existing security gate to the SW corner of CDOT's
development-Ourrevised-plans reflect these agreements.
*Item 10 Engineering Dept.
The redlines made a comment regarding the need for construction easements. Our
original submittal included a letter from Ron Mills, City ROW Agent, assuring that the
city would provide any easements on city property needed for CDOT's construction.
Another copy can be provided if necessary.
Please contact me at 667-1716 if you want to discuss our proposal further.
