Chayah Co ns ulting was onsite 09/09/2021 to observe the as-built condition of the
duplexes living room wall framing -specifica lly the header above the window on the rear
living room wall.
It is Chayah Consulting Group's professional opinion that moving the header from
directly above the window to the top o f the wall is acceptable. Since there is a minimum of
two packed stud posts full length on either s ide of the window. However, to e nsure structural
stability where all full-length studs are broken in living room -contractor should add 30 inch
Simpson CS22 or equal fully nailed straps directly over header where studs break with 8
penny n ails. The same strap shou ld be used at a ll broken studs at the exterior wal l in the
living room.
