Dear Mr. Peterson:
Per verbal request from ABD it is our understanding that the building department (via verbal request only) is
requesting a letter regarding the (2) 1 3/4 x 11 1/4 L VL flush beam bearing at the right side of the existing garage
exterior wall. Apparently the building department is stating that this end of the beam requires a hanger. The beam
is simply shown bearing full length at the exterior wall on our sheet S 1. Refer to architectural detail D / A2.2 on sheet
A2.2 (the actual detail on sheet A2.2 is mistakenly marked as D /S2 though) regarding this existing exterior wall.
This beam simply extends the full length of the wall and bears full length at the existing wood exterior garage wall
sill plate. Refer to plan note "3" regarding the edge floor joist at this existing exterior wall.
