Project No. 295-01-08-01 Dear Mr. Campana: As requested, we have assessed the feasibility of making the existing three feet wide window openings in the basement a full four feet wide to accommodate egress complying wtndows, along with adding a new window opening on the East wall of the Northeast bedroom. We also reviewed the loading of the interior wall to design a header for an approximately five feet wide opening. It is our opinion that the existing window openings and the new one to be cut in the basement . can be increased in width to the required width for the four feet wide window openings .in the basement. The block walls in the basement can be cut to the required depth. The headers over the opening should be a 2-2x8's to span over the openings and the existing 2x8's that are · supporting floor around the floor framing area should be hung to the new header. The new interior wall five feet door opening can be framed with either 3-2x8's or 3-5 ½" I' Microllam material and supported on 2-2x4 trimmers at each end with one 2x4 king stud each · end.
