Subject: Shear Wall/Porch Framing Inspection, 7105 Diamond Tail Dr
Th e purpose of this letter is to report on Kyle's observation of the framing for the residence located at 7105
Diamond Tail Dr. Per the request of GJ Gardner Homes, he visited the site on January 25, 2021 to observe the framing of
the porch roofs and the overall shea r attachment. All items were adjusted and pictures were sent on May 13, 2021 and
May 26, 2021. The following items were observed and their repairs are shown below:
• The front and back porch rafters were attached to the wall top plates with LSSJ26 hangers instead of the VPA2
hangers called out on the plans, see below. Install (1) SDWC15600 screw per rafter. Install per manufacturer
specifications.

o On May 13, 2021-Screws were observed to be installed.
• The post for the back porch by the rear bedroom was overhanging the found_ation wall by 1", see below.

o On May 13, 2021 -The post was moved to have full bearing on the foundation wall, see below. The post
was originally not installed straight. The post was straightened out.

• The balloon framed wall in the kitchen was missing horizontal blocking at the sheathing break, see below. IDlllll(·-t :,,
