It has come to our attention the following items were flagged during the framing
inspection performed by a building official:
• The main floor steel beams were bearing on wood shims in all beam pockets.
The wood shims have been replaced with steel and are adequate as installed.
• All steel beam to steel column connections have been welded in lieu of bolted
as shown on our drawings. This is an acceptable alternative for this project only.
• There were several locations where the base plates for the steel columns were
not attached to the concrete pads. These have been addressed and installed
per our request.
• It is our understanding the trellis off the garage and rear bedroom are not being
installed therefore detail 12/S3.2 can be omitted at these locations.
• The HSS4x4x1/4 steel column supporting the north end of the steel header in
the living room has a small section that bears on the W10x54 main floor beam.
This is not a concern.
• The holdown straps have been installed per our requirements.
