SITE DESCRIPTION a. Installation of a 12 inch waterline. b. Construction will consist of trenching, bedding, pipe placement, and backf ll to pre-existing grade, proposed grade, or minimum pipe cover on shown on the plans. C. The proposed waterline alignment crosses open land that is currently used as open space and agriculture. The alignment includes two (2) ditch/canal crossings and one (1) stream crossing. d. Major construction activities are planned In the following sequence: Installation of erosion control measures around the staging areas; begin waterline installation at the north and of the proposed alignment and proceed to the first ditch/canal crossing (Lake Canal Company) where water will be turned off during the crossing portion of the pipe Installation; excavation and Installation of casing pipe and concrete cut-off walls in the ditch/canal; bockfill and installation of permanent erosion control measures (Le. soli retention blanket, etc.) through canal/ditch crossing, proceed with pipeline construction to next ditch/conol crossing (Cache Lo Poudre Reservoir Company) where some crossing sequence Is repeated; proceed with pipeline construction to Box Elder Creek; install stream crossing erosion control measures before starting crossing; construct oeriol crossing across Box Elder Creek; complete pipeline construction; remove all temporary erosion control measures and complete soil and seeding restoration. s The construction area contains approximately one (1) acre with the staging areas containing on odditiond one (1) acre. Approximately 1.5 acres will require reeeeding In the project site. f. The existing ditch/clonal channels consist of sandy silty soils. Channel banks have native grosses growing on them and no rprop. g. The existing stream channel consists of sandy silty soils with native grasses growing in o portion of the channel bottom and along the banks. No riprap is _ located In the channel within the project site. h. No other potential pollution sources are located near the site. 1. Storm water runoff should not Increase during construction or after completion of the proposed improvements. 2. SITE MAP - a. See "Vicinity Map" on these plans. - 3. SMP'S FOR STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION a Erosion and Sediment Controls: A slit fence will be placed around the perimeter of the staging areas. Temporary sediment check dams will be installed downstream of the construction In Box Elder Creek. b. Materials Handling and Split Prevention: Measures should be undertakers to control building materials and waste, and disposal of removed materials to ensure these materials do not enter the ditches/canals and Box Elder Creek drainage. In the event of a spill from the Otte Into the ditches)/cond(s) and/or stream drainage, appropriate measures should be undertaken immediately to remove the spilled materials and prevent future spills from occurring. 4. FINAL STABILIZATION AND LONG-TERM STORM WATER MANAGEMENT a Stabilization measures within the ditch/channel and stream crossing will be - accomplished by installing o soft retention blanket over the disturbed portion of the channel and reseeding. Erosion control of the non -channel areas will be done by revegetation of the disturbed areas by seeding and mulching. Meterial to accomplish stabilization and erosion control measures are specified on these drawings. 5. OTHER CONTROLS o. Measures should be undertaken to remove excess waste materials from the site and dispose of them In on appropriate manner. In additions, measures should be performed to limit off -site tracking of mud end debris spillage from vehicles leaving the site. Mud and debris should not be tracked along roadways and allowed to enter non -protected drainage ways. 6. INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE o. Inspection and maintenance should be undertaken on a regular basis as outlined In Section 6 of the Terms and Conditions of the COPS General Permit.
