HomeMy WebLinkAboutHARMONY OAKS - Filed GC-GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE - 2006-11-30From: "Joe Carter" <joe@cityscapeud.com> To: "'Katie Moore"' <kamoore@fcgov.com> Date: 5/26/2005 8:00:01 AM Subject: Harmony Oaks Katie - I met with Len Hilderbrand this morning on both Front Range Baptist Church (FRBC) and Harmony Oaks. Xcel owns the OHP lines on the north side of Harmony Road (Harmony Oaks site) and the OHP line along the west side of FRBC. Len did not see a problem with either of the proposed utility easements along Harmony Road. Xcel has training on Wednesday June 1 st at 1 pm and will not be able to attend the Utility Coordination meeting. Harmony Oaks The OHP line along the Harmony Oaks property can be buried if necessary. The proposed annexation of Fairway Estates will be the determining factor. Currently, this OHP line serves Fairway Estates and the other county land north of Harmony Road. According to Len, once the property is annexed, the lines will be 'purchased' by the CoFC. The CoFC will then have a say in whether these lines are buried or not. The OHP line at Harmony Oaks is not located along the proposed utility easement. It is my opinion that this line could remain as OHP until the City chooses to bury it after it is purchased. The OHP line in front of Harmony Oaks is merely a short segment of a very long OHP line that runs east and west of the project site. The OHP line continues west from the Harmony Oaks site to serve development south (Fairway Estates) and north to the homes along Stover Drive. It is our hope that the OHP line can remain above ground until the City annexes and purchases this line. The line will then need to be either buried or removed. There is the possibility that future annexed land will be served from the west and not from the east. We will try to meet with City Light and Power prior to our Utility Coordination meeting. Lastly - According to Len, Jim Dewilde is the project manager for this section of Fort Collins and not Stephanie Rich. I copied your Utility Coordination request to both Jim Dewilde and Len Hilderbrand at Xcel. Thanks.
