Subject: Laporte Sidewalk construction estimate
Hi George,
Here is the estimated cost to construct a 5' wide detached sidewalk on Laporte. This is the amount that
needs to be paid prior to issuance of a building permit. Juniper Court sidewalk improvements must be
constructed with the development of the rear lot and cannot be escrowed with the City. I will print a copy
of this emial - estimate and place it in my file. I recommend you also save it for your records.
Grading/excavation - $62.76 per yard = $627.60
Export 10 cy and misc. sub -grade prep = $500
Sidewalk installation (51.29 feet x 5 feet wide = 256.45 sf) 256.45 x $3.46/sf = $887.32
Mobilization = $283.40
10% contingency = $229.83
Total cost = $2528.15
This is the cost to construct now ..... new unit prices or a factor of inflation will need to be added if paid
later than August. You also have the option of hiring someone to construct the sidewalk rather than
escrowing the funds. This estimate was derived using current unit prices based on recent work done for
the City in 2007.
