College Avenue PC Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522-0580 RE: Remington Place Apartments, 327 Remington Street Dear Mr. Diede: My associates and I have contracted with Rocky Mountain CM, a local construction company, to build two six -unit apartment buildings cn the northwest corner of Remington and Magnolia in Fort Collins. As owners of an eight -unit apartment building on the adjacent lot at 317 Remington, we have been concerned for many years about the unkempt and derelict appearance of the vacant lot, and are attempting to make an improvement there. We have been informed that we will be changed a fee for restoration of the pavement in the alley after installation of underground sewer lines for the new apartment units. However a large number of penetrations have recently been made in the alley for work unrelated to our project, and none of the resulting damage to the surface has been repaired (see attached photographs). Because of this we do not believe it would be appropriate to bill the cost of resurfacing to our project. We are therefore respectfully requesting that the fee be waived. Such a waiver would be invaluable in helping us to complete this important improvement to the downtown area. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you can accommodate this request.
