The purpose of this letter is to determine the suitability of the structure to safely support the proposed equipment with respect to the gravity loads and subsequent wind loads. It is our opinion that the smokestack is Structurally Adequate for the loading presented in this design package. This assessment assumes that the original structure was sufficiently designed to meet the loading requirements prior to the addition of the proposed equipment. A detailed analysis of the entire structure envelope was not performed and is beyond the scope of our services. This assessment was performed in accordance with the following codes: - International Building Code 2006: 100 mph 3-second gust - Fort Collins Municipal Code Amendments According to the information provided, the overall height of the structure is approximately 80 ft. and approximately 8.5 ft. wide. This structure is a masonry smokestack tower with 8 sides. The tower width stair steps to approximately 6 ft. in width at the top. Telecommunication antennas will be attached to the sides of the tower in a similar manner as the existing antennas for other carriers. The pipe mounts will be attached to the walls with epoxy anchors. The proposed antennas for this project are listed in Table 1 of this report. The calculations supporting our recommendations are located in the Appendix.
