I Drainage of Pastor Motor Company Expansion
Dear Ken:
This letter is to inform you of the analysis and design we have com-
pleted on the drainage for the expansion of Pastor Motor Company. The
following paragraphs outline the steps we have taken in analyzing the
site. For further clarification a Drainage Plan is attached. This re-
port conforms to the subdivision regulations of the City of Fort Collins.
All calculations pertaining to this report are available upon request at
our office.
The general topography of the area of expansion for Pastor Motor Company
is comprised of a flat plain sloping west to east. The only storm drain
system that exists in the area consists of the surface gutter flow in the
service road which fronts the existing Pastor Motor Company property.
The approach taken to develop a drainage plan for the expansion site re-
volved around the City of Pert Collins drainage requirement that the 100
year storm be held in storage allowing an outfall rate at the 2 year his-
toric level. Since virtually the entire area will be paved or roofed high
runoff coeffients where assumed. The total area was divided into north and
south flowing basins. The combined 2 year historic flow for the area totals
to 0.6 cfs. To limit the outfall to this quantity two small concrete channels
with notched entrances will be installed. These channels will start at a
depth of 8 inches and taper to; meet the existing pavement elevation at the east
side of the site. Storage for the 100 year storm will be accomplished by mini-
mal slopes on parking and 'nigh back curbing. (See attached Drainage Plan.)
This drainage design will satisfy all hydraulic considerations as well
as gcvernmental regulations in providing this site with both a safe and
equitable solution to the problem of handling storm water runoff.
The following is recommended:
1. Storm water runoff should be routed as shown on the Drainage Plan.
2. All drainage facilities and detention ponds should be constructed
as shown on the Drainage Plan.
