Filing Preliminary Storm Drainage and Erosion Control
Report
The Preliminary Storm Drainage and Erosion Control Report for
the Center for Advanced Technology 15th Filing indicates that "the
site is a net 8.6 acres located north of Center Avenue and south of
Worthington Circle. The gross area of the site, including the
developed adjoining streets (Center Avenue and Worthington Circle)
is 10.3 acres." Furthermore, the report states that, "the runoff
from the existing paved streets surrounding the site cannot drain
onto the site."
Although only 8.6 acres can be or will be tributary to the
15th Filing detention pond, the pond has been sized to accept
runoff from 10.3 acres while releasing at the rate specified in the
August 5, 1988 Addendum to the Centre for Advanced Technology Final
Drainage Report: 1.51 cfs. The additional pond volume will be
utilized during storms exceeding the 100-year event by the 8.6
acres that are tributary to it, but it cannot function to detain
flows from any other area, nor does it attenuate the 100-year peak
flow assigned to the site in the C.A.T. S.I.D. drainage plan.
Therefore, the additional area used to size the detention pond will
NOT be used to assess the site's eligibility for a reduction in
stormwater development fees.

a.k.a. NEW MERCER COMMONS P.U.D.
Dear Mr. Wigert,
Ted Davis, project manager for the New Mercer Commons P.U.D. has
requested that our office prepare a letter regarding the City 's
approval of the project and the availability of utilities to the
project site. Domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and
electric service are all provided by the City and fall under the
City's jurisdiction. These utilities are available to the site.
The Planning and Zoning Board granted final approval to the New
Mercer Commons P.U.D. on March 22, 1993. In conjunction with the
final approval, the City required the execution of a development
agreement and the approval of final utility plans. The utility
plans include the design for water, sewer, storm sewer, streets,
and sidewalks. The project has been released by the City to start
sitework.

Dear Basil:
In April of 1993, the Storm Drainage and Erosion Control Report for the
Centre for Advanced Technology 15th Filing was approved. Then in July of 1993,
there was a revision in the building locations on the site which caused a change
in the onsite storm water piping system.
An addendum to the original report was prepared which included calculations
and plans for the revised onsite storm drainage system. This addendum was
not finally approved, although the pipes and storm drainage system were
constructed per the revised plan.
I am including, with this cover letter, a copy of the original approved
report along with the addendum report. I have added capacity of the area inlet
grates to the addendum report. On the revised plan I have shown the type of
inlet grate and the 100—year design flow to the inlets. I have also shown
a cross—section of the 3—foot drain pans on the revised plan.
