Ladies,
We live at 1332 Bennett Road. My husband and I are both retired, currently caring for his mother in
our home. We have always enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and being able to sit on the porch in the
spring and fall and watch the little ones play baseball, soccer and more. Our street fills with cars as
the parents pick up and drop off their children. Once that is over, the "sports" cars show up. As others
have mentioned, Springfield is always packed with CSU student cars, so our fear is that any new
residents to Carriage House would park on Bennett Road if there isn't adequate parking at their
complex.
There are student rentals on Shields, at the end of Bennett. Over the years, most have been good
neighbors, but there have certainly been times when the empty lot at the Shield's end of the block is
full of party cups and beer cans on Saturday and Sunday momings.
We very much appreciate your consideration on these matters concerning adding more, condensed
student housing to our neighborhood.
