Important Contract Dates:
• PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING
• Mandatory meeting prior to Start of Construction
• Date to be determined after contract is awarded
• CONSTRUCTION DATES
• Arthur Ditch Box Culvert Replacement at Wood Street
• 90 Calendar Days under a Full Closure will be allowed
• Provisions must be made if final pavement surface not
constructed after 90 days.
• 14 Calendar Days for Site Cleanup – traffic opened to public
• Construction anticipated to begin in mid January, 2015
• Structure must be complete by the Arthur Ditch turn on date of
April 15, 2014

• CONSTRUCTION DATES
• Bid Opening on December 17, 2015.
• Project award within 3 Days of Bid Opening
• Arthur Ditch Box Culvert Replacement at Wood Street
• 90 Calendar Days under a Full Closure will be allowed
• Provisions must be made if final pavement surface not
constructed after 90 days
• Structure must be complete by April 15, 2014
• Final Acceptance is 14 days after substantial completion

HIGHLIGHTS FROM GENERAL CONDITIONS AND
GENERAL REQ’S:
• SUPERINTENDENTS:
• The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time Superintendent
whose sole responsibility is to monitor and coordinate all facets of
the work
• TRAFFIC CONTROL SUPERVISOR:
• A full time TCS will not be required on the project. Daily Traffic
Control Inspections will be required.

GENERAL REQ’S:
• LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
• SUBSTANIAL COMPLETION:
• 90 Calendar Days
• Substantial completion is defined as completion of all pay items on
the bid schedule
• Liquidated Damages in the amount of Eighteen Hundred Dollars
($1,800.00) for each calendar day will be assessed for each
partial or full day that the contract items are not complete.
• FINAL ACCEPTANCE
• Within 14 days of Substantial Completion.
• Final Completion is defined as completion of all punchlist items
and removal of all construction equipment and devices.
• Liquidated Damages in the amount of Eighteen Hundred Dollars
($1,800.00) for each calendar day will be assessed for each
partial or full day that the punchlist and cleanup is not complete.

• 7:00 AM thru 6:00 PM - Monday thru Friday.
• The project is located in a residential area
• Work hours will be strictly enforced

• PROJECT MEETINGS:
• Once a week. Location and time to be determined
• Agree to weekly quantities, 2 week schedule, traffic control
• PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS:
• Prior to construction, initial schedule must be submitted and
approved
• Schedules shall be updated weekly
• The Contractor may be required to submit additional schedules
depending on the progress of the project.
• RECORD DRAWINGS PLAN SET
• Contractor will be required to keep record drawings
• Will be submitted to the City at the end of the project

SITE CLEAN-UP:
• The construction work shall be kept and accomplished
in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• Vehicle tracking pads and street sweeping will need to
be used in order to minimize tracking and meet EPA
storm water quality requirements.
• Dust control will be required.

- NOTE: Note #4 of Pay Item notes on plan sheet #5 states that there
is 48 CY of Unclassified Excavation and 32 CY of Embankment that
are part of the roadway reconstruction that are not pay items and
are incidental to the work.

EROSION CONTROL

• The Erosion Control Plans provided are not the SWMP

etc.
• Contractor is required to have an Erosion Control Supervisor that shall
enforce all policies that apply to this project (LS Item)

SECTION 630 - TRAFFIC CONTROL
• The “Traffic Control” line item
• Line item includes all traffic control devices necessary for this phase,
including Detour Signage and Orange Safety Fence for bike and
pedestrian protection.
• To be based on a 90 day full closure in addition to any traffic control
needed outside this time
• Contractor to develop traffic control plans for the project
• Reference plans for anticipated set-up
• Plans reviewed by the City
• Flagging is not expected
• TCS and flaggers requried for setup are incidental to the line item “Traffic
Control”
• Daily Traffic Control inspections are required and are considered incidental
to the line item “Traffic Control”

FORCE ACCOUNT - WATERLINES
• The City of Fort Collins Utility Department will require an 8”
waterline lowering and the relocation of a 8” Sanitary Sewer
and the removal and replacement of two 5’ Diameter Sanitary
Sewer Manholes.
• An Addendum will be posted that will includes general details
for the waterline installation and the locations of the sanitary
sewer manhole relocations.
• The waterline work will be negotiated scope after award of the
project.
• City of Fort Collins Utility Dept. will provide additional design
information for the waterline once the structure is excavated.
