Q: What is the purpose of the existing system? A: The existing system provides control for boom barriers/gates at level crossings as well as providing inbound train notifications. 2. Q: What is the current GENESIS version? A: Our version is 10.81.119.00. 3. Q: Is the intention to extend this existing system to perform the TNMT functions, or does the City intend to install new hardware? A: The goal is to leverage our current system as much as possible; however, new hardware deployment is possible if needed. 4. Q: If we are adding to the existing system, would the City be willing to upgrade the GENESIS version if required? A: Yes. 5. Q: If possible, I would like to see the existing system via GoToMeeting (or in person). Could someone demo it to me? A: The City will demo the existing system on Thursday July 28, 2016. If there is time remaining in the hour scheduled, the City, at its sole discretion, may allow questions pursuant to the demo. Please see page 1 of this Addendum for attendance details. Participation is not mandatory but recommended. 6. Q: I know the RFP mentions that more detailed network architecture will be provided during the design review, however it would be very helpful in quoting this system if I had a high level overview of how the hardware devices that will be monitored are connected to the network. Does the City have some kind of drawing that could be shared at this point? A: Unfortunately there is no schematic, diagram, or topology to distribute. The devices are connected to a 10GB fiber network managed by Cisco and Moxa switches behind the City’s firewall. 7. Q: My design will likely use the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) to ping these devices for connectivity testing. Do all of the hardware devices support ICMP? A: Yes, the devices support ICMP. 8. Q: Is this RFP seeking to have a proprietary network monitoring tool built for your Genesis- Iconics platform or are you seeking to have the existing software/monitoring tool architected to meet current demands? A: We seek to have a tool designed and built utilizing our Genesis-Iconics Platform. At this time, we do not have a tool or GUI to monitor our network enabled devices.
