Description of RFP 8446: Transfort Bus Procurement
OPENING DATE: 3:00 PM (Our Clock) March 10, 2017
To all prospective bidders under the specifications and contract documents described above,
the following changes/additions are hereby made and detailed in the following sections of this
addendum:
1. CHANGES
a. The Question Deadline has been extended to February 22, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
b. The Opening Date has been changed to March 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM (our
clock).

CER 1.1 Request for Clarification / Question
This form must be used for requested clarifications or questions in regards to RFP#
8446. Please complete form as required and submit by deadline specified in Section 2.
Pre-Bid meeting questions:
Question/clarification:
1.) There are multiple sizes of Buses included in this RFP: do all sizes
need to be quoted?
2.) Will all bus sizes be purchased through the period of the contract?
3.) Is it possible the award could go to different vendors for different sizes?
4.) Within one vendor would bids be accepted on different models?
5.) What is the general sense of current fleet by Manufacturers? Is there a preference?
6.) Would bids be accepted if not all sizes are quoted?
7.) What are critical parts?
8.) Would the City consider an extension for submittal?
City of Fort Collins response:
1.) Yes
2.) Initial order is for 6 – 40ft buses, the following years the
sizes are not yet determined due to which buses are selected to be replaced.
3.) Yes
4.) Yes different models may be submitted for different sizes
5.) Mix of NABI/ New Flyer, Gillig, and Eldorado. No however would hope to have
a part system that could support existing buses, but are not locking into
one bus manufacturer.

7.) Three things :

Pay attention to preferred options noted in RFP
Warranty support

Question/clarification:
1.) Bus OEM”S are saying that Recaro seats were specified, however in the past
USSC Model G2A were used on the last couple orders. Did the City switch to
Recaro or do you want to bid G2?
City of Fort Collins response:
1.) The City did not specify a drivers’ seat in the specifications, however the City
did put the USSC G2 as a preferred option in table 8
