What is the latest start date for the roof work to begin? October 1, 2016 is the latest start date for the project. 2. If the City were to provide the asbestos abatement work, who would be responsible for the water tightness of the roof at the end of the day? The roofing contractor is responsible for a water tight seal at the end of the day. 3. If the asbestos abatement contractor is not a qualified DBE but the roofing contractor is awarded the contract, will this affect the award? Not as long as the DBE requirements are met. 4. What type of detail should be used for the expansion joints located on the north side of the roof to be worked on? A Roof-to-Roof manufacturer’s TPO detail similar to the one below will be acceptable.
