HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESPONSE - RFP - 8281 DOWNTOWN CONCESSIONAIRES (2)Cranked Up Coffee Downtown Concessionaire proposal Cranked Up Coffee is a new business bringing Fort Collins delicious cold coffee by bicycle. Roasted in small batches by local Colorado roasters Cranked Up’s coffee shows brilliant flavor since each batch gets the most attention possible. Brewed by special methods the oils are slowly extracted out of the beans to produce the best possible product and freshness. As an environmentally conscious company Cranked Up Coffee is proud to say it is a no/low emissions company and all waste and byproducts are recyclable or compostable such as the coffee grounds. The cart itself is human powered and does not use electricity nor does it put off any horrible emissions damaging our already fragile atmosphere. Cups of coffee will range from 25 dollars and will take less than 30 seconds to serve someone a cup of cold craft coffee. This is Cranked Up Coffee’s first year in business and is a Fort Collins born business. Started By Larry in 2015 this truly is a grassroots, owner operated company. If placed down town as a concessionaire we will be excited to hire 2 employees creating jobs and stimulating our local economy. Being in its first year of business Cranked Up is no youngling when it comes to coffee, having served coffee at many large events such as Shamanic boom here in FOCO, Arise festival in loveland, and Burningman in Nevada where over 70,000 participants gather. In addition to that the Cranked Up family has been professionally brewing and serving coffee to the public for years before the company emerged. The Cart itself is a front loader tricycle and can fold up. Its dimensions are 8 x 2.5 feet. Signage is on the side with the company name a sign in back that says coffee and an Umbrella. When folded the bike is only 6 feet long. This would be a great and visually pleasing cart to have downtown. The downtown pedestrians will be able to stop and grab a cup of fresh cold coffee on a warm day on the street and enjoy their shopping, sight seeing and families. Bring Cranked Up Coffee downtown! ”I have never seen such an amazing crema on a cup of coffee before! “ Dylan Mierra Loveland CO I had the chance to try some of the cold brew from Cranked Up Coffee a few weeks ago when Larry was experimenting with different brewing parameters for a few of the coffees he was sampling. First things first: the 12hour fine grind India was the best iced coffee I have ever tasted. I’ve been served all kinds of iced coffees made with all sorts of brewing methods – bigbucket Toddy, Frenchpress in the fridge, ridiculously expensive Japanesestyle slowdrip systems – and nothing really came close to that coffee. I’m not really sure what exactly he’s doing, but he’s pulling out flavors most baristas can’t find in their pourover brews. And the mouthfeel… syrupy almost like a good shot of espresso or a wellcrafted oatmeal stout. Whatever he gets involved in, Larry goes deep. He approaches life with dedication and enthusiasm. With the fantastic product he’s serving, his business sensibilities, and his warmth and sense of humor, I think Larry can take Cranked Up Coffee really far. I’m excited to watch it grow. Sam Sirchio Coffeelover Former Manager: Wild Boar Café, Catalyst Coffee, Hooked on Colfax, Sage Cafe “While visiting family in Fort Collins this week I was impressed by many things this town has to offer. The beauty of the town and the warmth of its residents is relaxing for a New Yorker such as myself. Being from Manhattan I was excited to see a guy pedaling around his coffee bike. Street food in NYC is a culture and community in its own, and when you find a good cart, you look for that cart every time and this guy is one I will look out for the next time I visit. The coffee was so smooth and flavorful, It is hard find coffee this good even in New York, and it was really nice not spending 15 minutes in a coffee shop on such a nice day. Can not wait to come back to Fort Collins”! Frank Delarocco Tourist “The coffee was excellent. I hadn't tried much in the way of cold brew, and always thought of it as just "cold coffee," but after trying a cup of that Cranked Up tapped cold brew, it was a whole new ballgame!” Jacob Gibbs Fort Collins resident A new way to drink, receive and enjoy coffee. Cranked Up Coffee is like no other coffee you have tried. Small batch roasted and cold brewed to perfection and served with a bright smile. Highly recommend all coffee connoisseurs to partake in the evolution of the coffee industry. Daniel Donovan Be Free Healing Co founder and Fort Collins residentBeing a barista for almost a decade I have seen coffee trends come and go, new flavors emerge, and marketing tactics employed to sell average coffee as high quality product. Cranked Up has taken quality to the next level with its attention to detail, micro batch roasted beans and lengthy brewing techniques to extract the best tasting oils. The finish on a cup of this coffee lasted for about 20 minutes for me I was able to enjoy that great aroma for some time after. The craft beer community is possibly the best in the nation here in Fort Collins I graduated from CSU and have lived here for over 11 years and have watched it grow, allow us now to usher in craft coffee. Thank you Cranked Up for being so environmentally conscious. Lauryn Stiner Barista Wild Boar Cafe As a local history and transportation blogger, I frequently think of the small local businesses which have helped to build this city. Chain stores always take more than they give. But it's the locally owned little mom and pop shops that really pour themselves into the community, building it up from the inside out. I had just finished writing a two week long series of posts about how important our little independent shops are for the economic health of the city, and the catalyzing effects that alternative forms of transportation have on supporting local businesses, when I happened upon Larry pedaling around with his Cranked Up Coffee cart. Seeing him was like seeing everything I had just finished writing about in those articles rising up out of the ink and presenting itself as the most local, alternativetransportationfriendly business imaginable. Meg Dunn, author of ForgottenFortCollins.com and PedalFortCollins.com That is damn good coffee! I used to be a secret consumer in Seattle for coffee where I grew up and this stuff raises the bar on what is going on in the coffee world. Having tasted and reviewed so many different coffees this one stands in a category of its own.
