The building has been renovated to repair damages to the envelope and enhance energy efficiency and overall envelope performance. Pie provided baseline testing and preliminary diagnostics in 2012 prior to the renovation work, and is proposing the following post-construction testing to compare to the baseline data. TASK 000: AIR BARRIER PERFORMANCE TESTING & THERMOGRAPHY  Air Barrier Test Plan Development  Plan and Building Preparation Conference Call  Building Preparation  Pre-Test Meeting with Client and Owner (concurrent with Air Barrier Testing)  Air Barrier Performance Testing  Immediate Data Analysis and Results  Final Report TOTAL FIXED FEE $9,800 Add/Alternate Services TASK 010: INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY AND SMOKE DIAGNOSTICS (IF REQUESTED) $1,875  Infrared Thermography Diagnostics  Supplemental Smoke Diagnostics Scope of Services TASK 000: AIR BARRIER PERFORMANCE TESTING  Pie will accomplish the following necessary building preparation measures prior to performing whole building air and thermal barrier testing. Preparation measures to generally include the following: - Propping and securing open all interior doors leading to the exterior envelope. - Closing and locking all exterior windows. - Closing and locking all exterior doors. - Removing approximately 1 drop ceiling every 300-400 square feet where ceiling tiles are present. - Masking or blanking off all intentional openings in the envelope (vents, louvers, kitchen hoods, etc.) - Filling or masking all plumbing traps (urinals, toilets, sinks, floor drains, etc.) - Includes returning of building to pre-test conditions (i.e. removal of masking, replacement of ceiling tiles, etc.) after each of the tests is completed. · The estimated duration for preparation of the building prior to testing and diagnostics is one-half day.  Pie will test one single-story Utilities Building during one mobilization. The mobilization includes the following: - Preparation and delivery of an air barrier test plan submittal package. 3 WWW.PIEGLOBAL.COM - Conference call with the client prior to testing to review submittal package. - Testing equipment logistics. - One report.  Pie will provide the staffing and equipment necessary to conduct air barrier performance testing in accordance with the following recognized standards and per the provided specifications: - ASTM E779: Test Method for Determining Air Leakage Rate by Fan Pressurization - ASTM E1827: Standard Test Methods for Determining Airtightness of Buildings Using an Orifice Blower Door - City of Fort Collins Air Leakage Test Protocol for Non-Residential Building Enclosures  Pie will prepare and issue a report that will include the following: - A summary of test procedures. - Collected data and log-linear regression analysis. - Equipment calibration records. - Digital photographs from building preparation and testing. Add/Alternate Services TASK 010: INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY AND SMOKE DIAGNOSTICS (IF REQUESTED)  Pie will conduct infrared thermography and smoke generation diagnostic evaluation of the building’s air barrier in accordance with the following recognized standards and per the provided specifications: - ASTM C1060: Standard Practice for Thermographic Inspection of Insulation Installations in Envelope Cavities of Frame Buildings - ASTM E1186: Practices for Air Leakage Site Detection in Building Envelopes and Air Barrier Systems - ISO 6781: Thermal Insulation – Qualitative detection of thermal irregularities in building envelopes – Infrared method  Pie will supplement the air barrier performance testing report with the following information: - Infrared thermography test report with infrared images, and corresponding digital images without written explanation for both. - Digital photographs from supplemental smoke diagnostics. Exclusions and Clarifications TASK 000: AIR BARRIER PERFORMANCE TESTING & THERMOGRAPHY  Follow-up air barrier performance testing can be conducted should the desired air leakage requirement not be achieved; however, the cost for these services is not included in this proposal.  Identifying the boundary of the building air barrier (plane of air tightness) and the test envelope square footage is the responsibility of the designer of record. Add/Alternate Services TASK 010: INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY & SMOKE DIAGNOSTICS  A minimum of 10-degrees differential between inside and outside temperature is required for effective thermographic imaging of air leakage. This proposal does not include temporary heating or cooling if the installed HVAC system is not operable at the time of testing.  Pie’s proposal assumes IR Thermography and Smoke Diagnostics are to be conducted during the same mobilization as Air Barrier Performance Testing.
