You have 3/8” Chips listed but the spec is Grading 67 Stone which would be called 3/4 ” not 3/8”. Shall I bid the spec? CDOT #67 was incorrectly specified for the 3/8" chips. Contractor shall provide a bid for well-graded 3/8" aggregate "pea-gravel" or "Squeegee Sand" for pipe bedding. Contractor shall provide aggregate gradation of percentage passing designated sieves with their bid. 2. On the 1” Washed Rock you have a CDOT #5 Granular bedding listed as the spec. I cannot find anything in the CDOT spec that is called #5 granular bedding. We call ours 1” Pipe Bedding. It also makes the gradation for No. 57 Stone and Class A Filter. (CDOT Section 703 Page 688 and 694 of the Green Book). The 1" washed rock was incorrectly specified as CDOT #5 Granular Bedding. Contractor shall provide a bid for uniformly graded and washed material conforming to CDOT #57 granular bedding. 1-1/2" (37.5 MM) - 100% passing 1" (25 mm) - 95 - 100% passing 1/2" (12.5 mm) - 25 - 60% passing #4 (4.75 mm) - 0 -10% passing #8 (2.36 mm) 0 - 5% passing If contractor cannot meet this specification then an approved equal may be accepted and the contractor will need to provide aggregate gradation of percentage passing designated sieves and nominal size designation that best meets this specification.
