Addendum 1 – 8254 Park Architectural Services On-Call Page 2 of 3
EXHIBIT 1 – QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. Does the Scope of Work – Task section of the RFP apply to Maple Hill or for all on-call
projects?
The Scope of Work – Task section of the RFP is intended as an overall scope
of work for all projects considered under the on-call services contract.
2. Does the Creativity Evaluation Criteria apply to the Maple Hill project alone?
The Creativity qualification will be evaluated based on the proposal which
includes past projects, design approach, and other relative information.
3. What is the City looking for regarding the approach to Maple Hill?
The City is looking for information to help us understand your approach to the
scope of work, you may choose to submit anything that helps us understand
your approach including but not limited to concepts, sketches, or a written
narrative.
4. If we choose not to submit because of timing, does it count against our firm?
Maple Hill is an optional submittal and the City does not count that against
anyone submitting for the on-call contract.
5. What are the proposed building sizes and budgets at Maple Hill Neighborhood Park?
Maple Hill Neighborhood Park has three structures in the scope. They include
the irrigation pump house, picnic shelter, and a restroom. A typical range for
the neighborhood parks is to budget $200,000-$300,000 for the restroom,
$50,000-$80,000 for the shelter, and about $50,000 for the irrigation
pumphouse (without pumps, controls, etc). These budget numbers are
approximate and subject to change.
6. Should energy modeling, commissioning, and geotechnical services be included as our
provided Consultant Services?
We are looking for energy modelling and commissioning as part of this on-call
contract to be provided by a qualified Engineer. The services can be provided
by a member of your team, including staff and/or a sub-consultant.
7. If energy consulting is required please clarify the desired scope, in particular for Maple Hill;
Are energy and lighting models desired? Is there a desire for buildings to be net zero?
The City’s standard is to move to net zero. With that said, we need to
incorporate those needs on all future City projects, including the Maple Hill
project. We will approach this as a project goal, however it is not a mandate to
make each structure net zero but to make the project as energy efficient as
possible and/or setup for future infrastructure to get us to the energy goals.
