GENERAL REQ’S:
• SUPERINTENDENTS:
• The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time Superintendent whose sole
responsibility is to monitor and coordinate all facets of the work
• LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
• SUBSTANIAL COMPLETION:
• The contractor will need to meet substantial completion requirements within 135
Calendar Days. Substantial Completion is defined as all top lift asphalt paving
complete, traffic following in the lane arrangements shown on the plans for finished
roadway, all sidewalk and sidewalk ramps complete. If the Contractor goes past the
substantial completion date, damages in the amount of Three Thousand Three
Hundred Dollars ($3,3000.00) for each calendar day will be assessed.
• FINAL ACCEPTANCE
• Final acceptance must be met within 40 calendar days of Substantial Completion.
Liquidated damages in the amount of One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars
($1,650.00) for each calendar day will be charged if this schedule has not been
met.

clean and orderly fashion.
• Tracking pads and street sweeping will need to be used in order to
minimize tracking and meet EPA storm water quality requirements.

• LANE RENTAL
• City of Fort Collins is implementing lane rental specifications to
encourage efficient use of lane closures for this project.
• The contract provides the following lane rental allowances to be used as
the contractor deems fit:
• 120 Multi-day closures on Timberline Road
• 50 Multi-day closures on Prospect Road
• 120 Single day closures to be shared between both roads.
• Multi-day closure is any single lane closure that extends beyond the
daily time limit of 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
• Single day closures are single lane closures that are used between
the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

• LANE RENTAL
• The following conditions need to be met for a lane to be considered a rental
lane:
• The under construction roadway has fewer thru lanes than before
construction.

• Lane Rental days will specifically not be charged for work that occurs
within the allowed weekend closure of Prospect Road for milling and top
lift paving.
• Lane Rental day will not be charged if lane closure is used exclusively
by City or Private Utility

• Contractor is required to have an Erosion Control Supervisor that shall
enforce all policies that apply to this project.

• City of Fort Collins is in the process of implementing a fugitive dust
management policy. This policy will be change ordered into the
Timberline/Prospect contract upon adoption by City Council in Spring,
2016.
• Current CDOT and CDPES policy already effectively manage dust
control and the same standards that are currently in place will be
maintained by the City’s new policy.
• Note that upon implementation of the City’s new dust control policy,
contractors working throughout the City will be required to comply with
the dust control measures that are lined out in the policy.
• A line item 209 Watering will be added by addendum in anticipation of
this change.
