Manager 221-6511 Tracy Dyer – Project Manager 222-0855 Jeff Usher – Project Inspector 720.270.2653  Purchasing Elliot Dale – Buyer 221-6777 2 3 ATTENDANCE  Please be sure to register  Bid Opening December 10th, 2015 @ 3:00pm (Our Clock) Location - 215 North Mason Street Submit Bids to Purchasing Department 4 IMPORTANT CONTRACT DATES  Pre-Construction Meeting  Mandatory Meeting prior to Commencing Construction  Date and Time to be determined after Contract Award  Construction Start Date  Approximately Early / Mid January 2016  One Hundred Thirty Day (130) Calendar Day Contract 3 5 IMPORTANT CONTRACT DATES  Substantial Completion One-Hundred (100) Day Substantial Completion*  April 15th, 2016 Ditch flow target date  Final Acceptance  Thirty (30) Calendar Days from Substantial Completion* *Date will be dependent on completion of contract and notice to proceed. 6 CONTRACT DOCUMENTS BID #8202  Plan Sheets  Prepared by: JUB Engineering, Inc / Stantec  Specification Book  Prepared by: JUB Engineering / City of Fort Collins  Subgrade – Subsurface Investigation work on file with City. 4 7 PROJECT LIMITS 8 SUMMARY OF WORK  Erosion control  Concrete box removal*  Existing box must be removed according to specifications  Structural excavation  Waterline lowering extension w/ casing– page 16  Gas line lowering after excavation / .5 to 1 day (City)  Century Link Phone line relocation (City) 5 9 SUMMARY OF WORK  Cast in-place box installation  Inlet and stormwater pipe installation  Concrete curb and gutter, access ramps  Asphalt milling / overlay and full depth asphalt pavement 10 SUMMARY OF WORK  Parkway irrigation and turf restoration  Traffic control 6 11 SUMMARY OF WORK  Method for Handling Traffic  All Plans must be approved by Syl Mireles – COFC Traffic  Full Closure anticipated 12 SUMMARY OF WORK  Construction Staking  Provided by the City of Fort Collins  48 Hours (Minimum) Required for Notification  Testing  Paid for by the City of Fort Collins thru CTL Thompson  Contractor will coordinate w/ City PM, testing as required  Striping  Provided by the City of Fort Collins  Floodplain Use Permit  Will be obtained and managed by COFC - Engineering 7 13 PROJECT COORDINATION  Area residents  Access to temporary parking  Maintaining safe pedestrian access at all times  Southeast Property specifically  Joseph / wheelchair van / providing access to ramp  Northeast Property specifically  Multi-unit housing 14 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS  Superintendents The General Contractor SHALL employ a superintendent whose sole responsibility is to monitor and coordinate all facets of the work, including project decision making. 8 15 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS  Substantial Completion - Defined • Box Removals, Utilities, Structural Excavation, Box installation, Backfill -- April 15th, 2016  Liquidated Damages – Substantial Completion If the Contractor goes past the 100 calendar days* for substantial completion, damages in the amount of One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($1600.00) for each calendar day will be assessed 16 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS  Final Acceptance - Defined • Completion and Acceptance of: Completion of Sidewalks, Curb and Gutter, Asphalt Patching / Paving, Landscape Restoration, Removal of Tree Protection, Removal of Erosion Control Items (except those as directed by the City to remain in place), Irrigation / Landscape and Punch List Items  Liquidated Damages – Final Acceptance If the Contractor goes past the 30 calendar days for final acceptance, damages in the amount of One Thousand Six Hundred ($1600.00) for each calendar day will be assessed 9 17 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS  Project Coordination Meetings  Weekly pre-determined meetings (including ticket collection)  Contractor to update Schedule weekly. The Contractor may be required to submit additional schedules dependent upon progress of the project. 18 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS  Construction Hours  Standard Working Hours are from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday (no equipment idling)  Weekend Work and / or Extended Hours Work may be granted. Requests for either must be made in writing a minimum of 72 hours in advance. Requests are subject to approval by the City of Fort Collins. 10 19 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS  Haul Routes  Request to keep construction related traffic on Loomis to Mountain / Mulberry as much as possible  Site Clean Up  The construction work shall be kept and accomplished in a neat, clean and orderly fashion  Street sweeping may be required in order to minimize vehicle tracking and to meet EPA storm water quality requirements  Dust control will be required as necessary 20 TRAFFIC CONTROL  Contractor Responsibilities:  Maintain vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic at all times. ALL detours for ALL modes of transportation shall be approved by the City prior to construction.  Maintain access to all residents.  Review all upcoming lane closure needs and /or changes in traffic control set up at Weekly Progress Meetings  Traffic Control Plans need to be submitted to the City seven (7) days prior to setup 11 21 EROSION CONTROL - SWMP  Contractor Responsibilities:  Erosion Control in accordance with Sheets 26-29  The Contractor is responsible for maintaining and repairing all erosion control devices throughout the project  Contractor will designate a SWMP Administrator prior to the start of construction.
