EXHIBIT 1
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. Q: Can you provide a floor plan of the proposed space that the mixing console, amplifiers
and speakers will go?
a. Can this plan show all the floorbox/wall box locations of mic inputs?
b. How many mics will be used at any one time?
c. Will all 48 inputs be used, if so, where?
A: The console and monitors will be used flexibly in the existing Lincoln Center Performance
Hall (hereafter referred to as “PH”). The console will be used primarily as either a Front of
House console but may be used occasionally as a monitor console (in the case of an artist
or touring company who carries their own FOH). The monitors will be used most frequently
onstage or in the orchestra pit, though they are also intended to be used throughout the
facility and potentially in other venues.
Please refer to attached Exhibits 2 and 3 for a diagram of the PH with two potential locations
for the Front of House console and a ground plan of the stage area. Digital connections will
be made via terminations (provided) in the sound pit area indicated as the “house mix
position”. Analog connections, if needed, are made via a trench (provided) that runs from
stage left to both locations. Analog and digital terminations onstage are located in a
permanent rack stage left (provided) in the alcove close to a spiral staircase (indicated on
the drawing as a segmented circle). There is a crossover (provided) to a similar panel
location stage right. ALL PATHWAYS ARE EXISTING OR WILL BE PROVIDED AND DO
NOT REQUIRE CONSIDERATION IN THIS BID.
Conceivably, each channel of the console could be in use in the PH. As an example; a local
performing arts company is using 22 wireless vocal mics, 8 monitors (some onstage, some
in the pit) and 15 instrument inputs or mics (mostly in the pit) for their current production.
Professional Broadway touring companies and artists engaged by the City who agree to use
our console could easily “max out” this system.
2. Q: Does this bid need to include cabling, termination and i/o plate for input locations?
A: The bid DOES NOT need to include cabling or any other input/output devices besides
that of the Midas DL 251 48 x 16 interface and amp rack panel specifically listed in the bid.
3. Q: Is there an existing rack to locate the amps and custom amp rack panel?
A: Yes, both the permanent onstage rack described in Question 1 above and a rolling rack
for the monitor components are existing or will be provided.
