WE HEREBY ENTER OUR BID FOR THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS' REQUIREMENTS FOR
WEED CUTTING AND RUBBISH REMOVAL, PER THE BID INVITATION AND ALL
REFERENCED SPECIFICATIONS:
The City of Fort Collins is requesting bids for furnishing equipment and labor deemed necessary
and required to cut and remove weeds and rubbish from designated properties in accordance
with Section 20-45 of the Code of Ordinances and the hauling away of same to an authorized
landfill, under the direction of the City Representative. Work also includes road shoulder
mowing for certain City property.
BID SCHEDULE
We hereby enter our pricing for the City of Fort Collins' requirements to cut and remove weeds
and rubbish in accordance with Section 20 - 45 of the Code and Ordinance of the City of Fort
Collins. All pieces of equipment shall be priced separately, listing make, model, year,
horsepower, size, and cost per hour and include an operator. Also, a combined price shall be
given for minimum equipment required in each category. Service Provider may bid on one or all
categories. Category II and Ill require a digital camera and all weed mowing and rubbish
removal must have a digital photo taken prior to the weed mowing and rubbish removal.

Section 4. Road Shoulder Mowing
Approximately 100 lane miles of road shoulders to be mowed, three or more times a summer,
depending upon climate conditions. From past experience a mile to. a mile and a half can be
mowed in an hour. Includes weed whipping around poles, signs, etc. Service Provider must
avoid mowing major arterials during rush hour, from 7-9am, and 4-6pm. Major arterials are
streets like Prospect, Drake, Lemay, Timberline, Horsetooth, Taft, Shields, etc. This restriction
does not apply to weekends. A list of each mowing location including descriptions and maps are
provided in Exhibit C, attached. The Streets Department requires Service Providers who
perform work at the 625 gth Street or the 1300 Hoffman Mill Rd. facilities to complete a Service
Provider Management Environmental Checklist prior to performing work, see attached
Attachment B.

of road shoulder.

Safety Equipment:
The tractor must be equipped with safety placards: "Caution", etc., and working flashers as well
as reflectors. The mower must be equipped with safety guards or chain guards to prevent rocks
and debris from flying out from under the mower. Personnel working on or near the road
including the road shoulder or right-of-way must wear a Class 111 reflective safety vest and hard
hats at all times. Personnel must wear eye and ear protection during weed whipping. City will
provide traffic control "Mowing Ahead" signs for the Service Provider to place and maintain at all
times while mowing occurs on all major roads. Other traffic control for Road Shoulder mowing
will be the responsibility of the Service Provider.
Litter control, collection, and disposal is required at all locations, as well as special cleanup
instructions on Harmony/1-25 interchange to prevent blockage of the irrigation siphon. Service
Provider must have irrigation experience and be capable of operating the irrigation system at
the intersection, Harmony Park & Ride facility, and the 625 gth Street facility systems.

EXHIBIT 1 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. I didn't see anything in the Specifications addressing Business Name being required on
Vehicles?
Company !Business Names are required on vehicles for road shoulder mowing
and weed and rubbish abatements.
2. Page 12 of 25. The 2015 Road Shoulder Mowing List says EAST Side. Should say or
represent WEST Side. Page 11 of 25 is East Side.
The West Side List of road shoulder mowing locations is attached.
3. How will landscape and irrigation labor be bid in the contract?
Line items for landscape and irrigation labor will be added to the Road Shoulder
Mowing bid. Please see below.
4. "Exhibit C" is referenced in the road shoulder mowing specifications then Attachment B in
the same paragraph. Should Attachment A replace "Exhibit C"?
Yes
5. Does the 392 & 1-25 Interchange shoulder mowing include irrigation system maintenance
and maintenance of the landscape medians?
No, the City of Fort Collins Parks Department is responsible for that on the West
side of the bridge and the Town of Windsor is responsible for the East side.
6. How will the billing be split between the Town of Windsor and the City of Fort Collins
regarding the 392 & 1-25 Interchange shoulder mowing?
The Service Provider will split the mowing bill, the East half to the Town of
Windsor and the West half to the City of Fort Collins.

CLARIFICATION
A. In the Bid Schedule, Section 3, "three foot walk behind mower" add "must be a minimum

September 2013 regional flood event that impacted the City of Longmont.
The 2013 Flood - Emergency Debris Removal Project was one of the City's initial flood recovery priorities
