Addendum 2 – 8104 EPIC Pool Repair Design Page 2 of 3
EXHIBIT 1 – QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. Do you want to change the deck drainage since the deck may be changed for the new
plumbing of the pool gutters and since there are areas where some of the drains don’t
drain?
We would be open to possibly doing this. It would depend on probable costs.
2. There is a requirement to repair the lap pool pump, but later in the RFP it states to replace
it. If the budget allows, is the lap pool pump to be reused or replaced?
If the budget allows we would like to replace the pump.
3. Pertaining to adding the lanes, do you plan to add additional competition equipment in the
budget for items such as flags, starter platforms, scoreboard lines and electronics in the
deck (if the deck is changed)?
Coordination of anchor locations, flag locations, etc. would be part of this
scope of work. Purchasing of this equipment is NOT part of the overall budget.
4. Verify if 3 meter tower is to be removed or if it is going to stay.
Currently, our surveys are telling us that about 60% of those surveyed would
like us to keep the 3 meter platform. A decision on this has not yet been made
on this, but we would like to see recommendations and what design would
look like without the 3 meter platform.
5. What is the schedule for the work to be started? Is there a time when you were
anticipating being down for the repairs such as during your busy season?
Design work to begin immediately. Construction work would be scheduled to
begin the middle of June, 2016. Design Team to provide a schedule as part of
the RFP proposal which states anticipated closure duration for the pool.
6. Is the portion of mechanical and structural needs to be included in the design, if it is in the
budget to do those items?
No.
7. There is no mention of electrical design that will be needed for the interlocking of
equipment. Is this something that needs to be included in our proposal?
Yes.
8. It was stated that the chlorine gas may change. What chemical treatment do you prefer to
use in conjunction with the CO2 pH/Acid pH balance system? What chemicals are used
on your other pools so that they will be consistent?
The City would look for recommendations from the Design Team but would
probably move to tablets or bleach or a combo. CPP, MP and EPIC are all on Cl
gas. SC is the only pool that does not currently use gas.
9. Please confirm what the budget includes for the filters or other items that were previously
purchased and discussed during the meeting.
Addendum 2 – 8104 EPIC Pool Repair Design Page 3 of 3
Overall budget includes the scope in the RFP: Bulkheads, gutter work,
plumbing, filters, pool deck, etc. Excludes HVAC upgrades and design for
HVAC upgrades.
10. What is the exact budget for this project?
$1,754,000. This budget will need to cover (hard & soft costs) design fees,
project management, contingency, filters, construction costs, etc.
11. Confirm the priorities for the project. Will it be pool items first and all other items to follow
as the budget allows?
Correct.
1. Main pool items
2. Kids pool items
3. Therapy pool items
4. Pool room painting upgrades
5. HVAC upgrades
General Notes:
1. Scope of Work listed in the RFP.
a. Change line item #1 to say “Provide all design services. Including architectural,
structural, & plumbing as needed.”

coordinate with the Farnsworth Group regarding the HVAC design work for the
bleacher area.”
i. This work will be done separately.
c. Add additional line item stating “Design Team to provide conceptual cost
estimating once the design work is complete. This will help establish a
prioritization of work.”
