Addendum 1 – 7678 Bus Wrap for Transfort Buses Page 2 of 3
EXHIBIT 1 – QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. Will the partial bus wrap for CSU be installed on three of the same 35’ NABI
buses that the proposer will also wrap? No Will this be done at the same
time? No
2. The bid proposal form, shown on pages 3 and 4 of the solicitation, is a little
confusing. On the pricing table, please confirm that proposers should show the
per unit costs of the several items (i.e., 31’ bus, 35’ bus, etc.). Yes. Please note
that the Design for each item would be a one-time cost and not apply to each
unit. That is, total design cost for one 40’ bus would be the same as total design
cost for the requested eleven 40’ buses.
3. Please confirm that proposers are not asked to show pricing that extends unit
costs by the number of buses in each group. That is, proposers will show the unit
cost for wrapping one 40’ NABI bus but will not show the extended cost of
wrapping the specified eleven 40’ NABI buses.
Sub-Total line should reflect the cost of one bus for each size or type. The
Total cost line should reflect the cost to wrap all the different size buses
and associated quantities of buses noted, since wheel skirts are an as
needed item.
4. Also on the Bid Proposal form, on page 4, proposers are asked to show total
hours, both per vehicle and total. Please confirm that these estimates relate to
installation time and are just informational. Yes informational
5. First of all- we were wondering about the buses themselves-
a. Will they be new and all one color when we receive them? No
b. Will they be grey? No
c. Or will there be other graphics we will be covering up? Yes, the buses
have the city old brand and paint scheme – graphics/painted strips.
d. Would there be a chance that we can come by and see a typical bus? It
can be arrange with 24+ hours’ notice.
6. Will you be sending out the final design files? Or will the sign company be
expected to generate their own files? The final design files will be provided.
We can see that by slightly tweaking some of the elements, we could reduce
labor quite a bit. For example-by moving Cam a few inches we can stay away
from the troublesome top track areas. And the roof top enclosure- will that be a
wrapped area or can we spray that part? This may save on vinyl and on labor.
7. On the material specs- can we substitute with similar product? The bid needs to
be priced with the material as noted in the SOW. You may note an
Addendum 1 – 7678 Bus Wrap for Transfort Buses Page 3 of 3
alternative material as a potential cost savings to be considered after
award.
The black and white you have mentioned are not air-egress, which takes more
time to apply. Also, we could not find any specs on the window perf vinyl or on
the laminate. Was hard to see if the white lettering on the windows is simply
white decals on the glass or printed white on window perf vinyl? Window decals
need to be perforated and we do not currently have a spec available.
8. Finally, the FTA requirements- are we considered lower tier subcontractors? No
Or do we need to contact someone else about these requirements? Bidders
must meet the FTA requirements if providing the material and installation
on the bus wraps.
