THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO By: _________________________________ Gerry Paul Director of Purchasing & Risk Management DATE: ______________________________ CLEANBIT SYSTEMS, INC., DBA JOULEBUG By: __________________________________ Title: _______________________________ CORPORATE PRESIDENT OR VICE PRESIDENT Date: _______________________________ DocuSign Envelope ID: 1456A117-7CEB-4619-BCCF-9D0A40F6CED3 President 4/21/2015 4/22/2015 Professional Services Agreement Misc – Fort Zed App Page 6 of 11 EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF WORK EXECUTIVE SUMMARY In this proposal Professional describes how the City of Fort Collins (City) can use JouleBug’s mobile app and platform to expand Fort Collins’ sustainability efforts and further enhance citizen sustainability engagement. Professional describes briefly the content in the JouleBug app: “Pins” and “Badges” that encourage sustainable actions across a variety of categories, including energy & water conservation, solid waste & recycling, and transportation. Professional explains how localized content, challenges, and data & analytics capabilities combine in a unique Fort Collins-branded mobile app, powered by the JouleBug platform. BACKGROUND Fort Collins is committed to operating in an environmentally sustainable way. The City is participating in the Georgetown University Energy Prize (GUEP). That pursuit necessitates locating and deploying scalable mechanisms to reduce energy and other resource consumption. Even before the GUEP, Fort Collins began its Fort ZED mission to transform the downtown area and CSU main campus into a model net Zero Energy District. The JouleBug Platform will increase community engagement to meet these objectives. JouleBug offers Fort Collins a new tool for meeting its sustainability goals and further engaging citizens. JouleBug conveys a broad array of sustainability messages in a way that is portable, interactive, relevant, and fun, It allows Fort Collins to focus community attention on current priorities and programs and to shift that focus as its priorities change and its programs develop. It broadens the appeal of sustainability to new audiences through challenges. Moreover, JouleBug’s custom app service gives Fort Collins a direct communication portal to residents with its own brand, deeply integrated community information, and considerable control over content and tone. JOULEBUG’S MULTI-PLATFORM MOBILE APP AND CUSTOMIZATION FOR FORT COLLINS JouleBug is a mobile app with one goal: to persuade more people to adopt more sustainable habits. The app is free to download and available for Apple and Android phones and tablets. It provides users with information about how to make simple sustainable choices in many areas of their daily lives. It then motivates them to make these sustainable choices with mechanisms of competition and reward. Users are awarded points and virtual trophies (“Pins and Badges”) for their real-world sustainable achievements and can engage in challenges with other residents. The sustainability content in the JouleBug app is quite comprehensive. The app communicates to users not only the environmental impact, but also the monetary savings associated with the individual sustainable actions (“Pins”) it encourages. JouleBug appeals to a broad range of potential users, not just to people who already consider themselves “environmentalists.” The custom app JouleBug subscription extends our core mobile app to help address the sustainability goals, environmental programs, and unique assets and attributes of Fort Collins. Professional works with the City to learn what behaviors you most want to prompt in your citizens, what makes Fort Collins special, and how JouleBug can best be deployed and promoted in your locations and population. The following elements are included in the custom app: DocuSign Envelope ID: 1456A117-7CEB-4619-BCCF-9D0A40F6CED3 Professional Services Agreement Misc – Fort Zed App Page 7 of 11 1) Branded App: Professional publishes an entire custom app for Fort Collins. It appears in the Apple and Android app marketplaces under a name you choose, with your logo. The custom app is updated according to the major update schedule for the JouleBug app, so the City still gets all the new features and improvements Professional develops. Benefits: A custom JouleBug app gives Fort Collins a highly tailored mobile channel built on the vast array of JouleBug content and for far less money than it would take to develop such an app on your own. It helps Fort Collins further develop brand and program recognition, while still giving the City access to the powerful JouleBug platform. The custom app also comes with more extensive community definition capabilities and additional analytics. 2) Localized Content: The City’s custom app includes localized content so that any Pin can reflect your community-specific Cover Photos, Web links and Video links. By using information and images from your community, the Pin can better express your message and intent. Benefits: Localized content makes JouleBug much more relevant to your community. This specialized content meets your citizens where they are and helps make JouleBug’s tips much more actionable, resulting in increased efficacy. 3) Community Challenges: JouleBug works with Fort Collins to launch challenges among the Fort Collins residents. These community Challenges, which can be individual or team-based, are a powerful way to generate additional interest in the app and in Fort Collins’ overall environmental work, reaching beyond the usual crowd to draw in new audiences. Benefits: Community Challenges are affordable, attention-grabbing, easy-to-implement engagement tools, great for complementing an annual festival, major campaign, or any other environmental outreach event. Friendly competition can be very enticing and engaging. 4) Data and Analytics: JouleBug provides Fort Collins with reports about when and how citizens are using the app to engage in sustainable behavior. This allows Fort Collins to see what sustainability messages are connecting with their population and where there might be room for improvement. Fort Collins can also use the data from Professional’s reports to quantify their environmental impact and share that with interested parties. Benefits: JouleBug’s analytics measure your impact while keeping you focused on what you do best – environmental programs and outreach – instead of on accounting. Professional furnishes data that can help guide future program development and priorities. 5) Custom Notifications: The City of Fort Collins can send custom notifications to its app users within the custom app. Notifications, such as for high ozone days, drought conditions, or a new Community Challenge, can be combined with messaging to promote specific actions by Fort Collins’ citizens. Benefits: JouleBug’s notifications provide a mobile portal of communications to Fort Collins’ citizens. Notifications can alert citizens when certain conditions exist and also give them tools and encouragement on how best to react to help minimize the condition.
