SERVICE PROVIDER: Date: 9-30-20 Michael Oberlander, Sr. PM ACCEPTANCE: Date: Name, Project Manager REVIEWED: Date: Name, Buyer or Senior Buyer ACCEPTANCE: Date: Gerry Paul, Purchasing Director (if greater than $60,000) 10/7/2020 September 29, 2020 Mr. Blake Visser City of Fort Collins – Operations Services 2020 ADA Improvement Projects Project Description and Scope of Services Dear Blake, Description The City has four sites identified to be brought in compliance with ADA grading with its 2020 budget. Interwest will prepare detailed re-grading plans for specific areas identified to be out of ADA compliance. Operations services will engage an on-call contractor for this work and coordinate the construction of the project. The sites that will undergo redesign include: Streets Facility Entry Sidewalks – Remove and replace walks as needed to meet ADA criteria in the areas shown below, move all ADA parking to north row of lot (survey to be provided by City). Museum of Discovery Parking and Walks – regrade handicap parking spaces to meet requirements as well as the sidewalk east of the HCAP parking (survey provided by City). Assess walks in the outdoor display area identified to be steeper than 5% (survey to be provided by City). Aztlan Sidewalks – regrade sidewalks and ramps to meet ADA requirements. Assess parking spaces and add more parking spaces to the west of the main driveway (remove parking spaces on the east), add HCAP ramp at dropoff area (survey by King). Downtown Transit Center Public Areas – • Task 1 – Survey and note the reconstruction of the existing stairs (assumed that it will be the same as the original design). • Task 2 – Survey and regrade the building HCAP ramp “site sidewalks” from the building to Mason and Laporte. Rails and joint between the HCAP ramp and building will be coordinated with the City. • Task 3 – Survey and regrade the bus loading islands and connecting walkways as well as the sidewalk along Mason. Note that it may be impossible to design this without modifications to structural components in the loading areas. This will be assessed early in the design process. TASK 1 TASK 2 TASK 3 Proposed Survey and Design Fees: Assumptions: 1. The project will be built by an on-call contractor and not formally bid. No specifications will be written, just notes on the plan sheets. 2. No structural, architectural landscape or irrigation design will be required. Rails, will be replaced in like and kind and not specified by Interwest. 3. Construction phasing will be coordinated by the City. 4. Pavement design if required will be provided by the City. 5. Plans will include limits of demolition, proposed grading, and curb ramp details only. 6. No off-site easements or right of way will be required. 7. Drainage patterns will not be changed, and drainage and erosion control reports will not be required. 8. No construction services are included in this proposal. 9. Bid quantities will not be provided – contractors will provide their own takeoffs with Interwest’s CAD files.
