At your request, CTL|Thompson, Inc. is pleased to provide this fee estimate for Construction
Observation and Materials Testing services for the Stover Street Sewer Line Replacement project
located in Fort Collins, Colorado. We used the plans that were provided in preparation of our
proposal.
We understand that the city will use our estimate for the basis of establishing a budget for the
project and to issue a purchase order for our services. Our estimated scope of services and
associated fees were prepared according to the terms and conditions of our professional services
agreement with the City of Fort Collins and are presented below.
Soil Compaction Testing: Compaction testing will be necessary for sanitary trench backfill, manhole
backfill, and asphalt subgrade. We estimate 14 site visits will be necessary.
Soil Compaction Testing 14 days x 2 hrs/day x $70/hr $1,960.00
Proctor Test 2 tests x $100/test $200.00
Gradation Test 2 tests x $50/test $100.00
Atterberg Limits Test 2 tests x $70/test $140.00
Subtotal: $2,400.00
Asphalt Testing: Asphalt testing will be necessary. We estimate 2 days of patching will be
necessary and that no samples will be required due to the small areas being patched.
Asphalt Testing 2 days x 4 hrs/day x $70/hr $560.00
Subtotal: $560.00

contractor’s schedule. The fee will be charged only for the actual hours and unit rates presented for
tests and observations requested by the owner, contractor or subcontractors who schedule the
services.
