Questions & Answers
1. Would we be able to conduct a site visit this week or next to take a look at the tops
of the 4 buildings?
A. Unfortunately, at this point, we will not be able to offer a site visit due to timing
and safety concerns.
2. There are four “Typical Horizontal Lifeline Anchorage Details” shown on the
drawings. One of these details shows a through-bolt connection to existing
steel/wood roof framing or concrete deck. Is there a specific location where this
detail occurs? If so, can we visually see the underside of the roof deck to see what
the full scope of work would be?
A. The structural anchorage details were included to give general guidance as to the
types of connections to anticipate for fall protection on the City’s various buildings
and to communicate the permanent nature of the anchor posts.
3. Do you have any pictures of the roofs at Nix Farm?
A. Yes, please see attached pictures. (Exhibit 2)
4. Can the City provide the roof system, manufacture, and installer for each roof we
will be penetrating?
A. Collaboration will be required with the City and the contractor on each of the
roofs to be worked on to install the fall protection systems accordingly. Some
roofs are still under warranty. Those roofs that are still under warranty will
have contact information for the warranty holder the contractor will need to
contact. The City can provide this information as necessary.
Contractor must verify, in writing, that the manufacturer will maintain all
warranties before work begins.
5. Can the City provide the type of structure the roof is installed on?
A. The contractor will have access to view each type of roof structure as needed
once work begins.
