Description of RFP 8817: Operation Services Elevator Modernization

To all prospective bidders under the specifications and contract documents described above, the
following changes/additions are hereby made and detailed in the following sections of this
addendum:

Questions & Answers
Q1: Are there prevailing wages on this project if the dollar sum exceeds a certain value?
A1: No Prevailing wages on this project.
Q2: Please confirm what the post-modernization warranty (and free service coverage) is; 1
year or 2 years.
A2: 1 Year
Q3: Please confirm what the building access days and times are for the project.
A3: Building access 7am to 5pm Monday thru Friday with us able to accommodate Saturday
work upon request.
Q4: Should asbestos be found in the machine room, hoistway (elevator shaft), etc., is the
City responsible for abatement?
A4: Yes
Q5: Would the City allow for the existing hydraulic jack cylinder to remain? Basically, will the
City allow this elevator to remain a hydraulic-powered elevator, as it was originally
designed?
A5: No, the water infiltration will not allow for this.
Q6: Is the awarded contractor responsible for providing hoistway access (pit access) while
the plumbing contractor seals the pit?
A6: No, our contractor will provide their own access
Q7: Does the City have an idea of how long this contractor will need pit access, and is this to
be supervised by elevator contractor?
A7: Supervision to be discussed after award and approximately 2 weeks after the elevator
and jack are removed.
