A1: This has been supplied with the answers to the questions below. (See Exhibit 2) Q2: Page 4: Ramsey winch specified has worm type gear, delete reference to planetary gear. A2: Ok Q3: Page 4: Ramsey winch has 25' or 50' control length. A3: 25’ length Q4: Page 5: Front bumper compartments fabricated from aluminum, not stainless steel be acceptable to PFA? A4: Yes Q5: Page 5: Our receiver design extends through body and does not require opening a stainless steel door for access. Is this acceptable to PFA? A5: Yes Q6: Page 5: Rear tow eyes shall be bolted to chassis frame, not welded is this acceptable to PFA? A6: Bolted is preferred. Q7: Page 6: Top speed will be 60 MPH since truck exceeds 50,000 GWVR per NFPA 1901. Is this acceptable to PFA? A7: In the essence of time, we would like to address this decision at the time of pre- construction unless this will impact final cost estimate. Q8: Page 8: Cats Eye system is an equalizer line setup for dual tires only with indicator. Indicator is not available on single tires. We can provide different brand indicators for front tires. Is this acceptable to PFA? A8: Yes, nothing on the front tires Q9: Page 8: The Fleetguard coolant filter is pre-charged with coolant additive for long engine life, only filter approved by Cummins. A9: Stay with Cummins recommendations. Q10: Page 8: Page Goodyear Blue Stripe brand hoses acceptable to PFA? A10: Will likely be different – to be discussed at pre-construction Q11: Page 11: Cab will be provided with 24" raised roof to meet 80" interior height on page 12, or is 20” raised roof intent to lower the overall height of rescue? A11: We would like to stay with 20”. 24” is ok if it doesn’t cause the scene light and structure surrounding it to extend higher than the body. The scene light is mounted on top of the raised roof portion. What’s their next available option below 24”? Q12: Page 11: Is a 99” cab width acceptable to PFA? A12: Yes Addendum 1 - RFP 8808 PFA Rescue Truck Page 2 of 9 Q13: Page 12: Will a driver 25.7” and officer 23.9” clear hip width be acceptable to PFA? A13: Yes Q14: Page 14: Underseat cab heaters rated at 13,500 BTU each (54,000 BTU total), be acceptable to PFA? A14: If that is the max they can offer, then yes. 18,000 BTU below spec. Q15: Page16: Officer seat 6-way electric SCBA seat be acceptable to PFA? A15: Yes Q16: Page19: Are Federal 100 watt speakers matching siren brand acceptable? A16: Yes Q17: Page 20: We can provide four (4) front warning lights with separate turn signals specified. Would the increased warning lights be acceptable to PFA? A17: Yes Q18: Page 21: Upper zone front, sides, and rear warning lights should be Code 3 brand with specified Code 3 light bar for NFPA lighting package certification. Is this acceptable to PFA? A18: Yes Q19: Page 23: Is a starter push button instead of a starter switch acceptable to PFA? A19: Yes Q20: Page 24: Just to confirm, PFA is providing David Clark system for installation by bidder. A20: Yes Q21: Page 24: Power strips specified in cab to distribute 12 VDC or 120 VAC? Q21: 120 VAC Q22: Page 25: The Code 3 NARROW-STIK direction light is a split design with 4 lights each side. Is this acceptable to PFA? A22: Yes, provided that the light configuration accomplishes our intention for the system. Q23: Page 26: Please provide locations for the three (3) full length rub rails specified. A23: The locations were specified: “The mounting locations will be: one (1) at the top of the body, one (1) above the exterior access compartments and one (1) below the exterior access compartments.” Q24: Page 27: Specification requires body length of no more than 330”, but Page 28-29 if you add all compartment widths they add to 360”. Please clarify desired compartment widths and body length. A24: We have the compartment widths for L2, L3, R2 and R3 specified incorrectly. The width on those 4 compartments should be roughly 58”. This puts our total body length at 330” Q25: Page 27: Compartment doors that are a recess style where outer surface is in-line with body surface, not over lapping acceptable to PFA? A25: Yes, we want them flush with the body, not overlapping. Addendum 1 - RFP 8808 PFA Rescue Truck Page 3 of 9 Q26: Page 31: Interior compartments would be approx. 30" in height, not 37" with OAH height of 140” specified and specified ladders stacked on interior side wall. A27: Yes Q28: Page 32: Cab to body walk through which provides a weather tight seal without the inflating air seal between cab and body acceptable to PFA? A28: As long as is provides a weather tight seal and allow for body flex. Q29: Page 36: Are combination red/white LED lights with switches as specified acceptable to PFA? A29: No. The intent of the white/red lights within the body is to be separate units. 6 white, 6 red. This allows two separate circuits, individually controlled by switches at both ends of the body. Q30: Page 36: Are stainless steel fuel fills to match SCBA compartments acceptable to PFA? A30: Yes Q31: Page 40: Light tower model specified is halogen. Please confirm if Command Light model KL415A-W2 LED light tower is what is required. A31: LED, AC, 120,000 lumen is preferred, details to be worked out at the pre-construction. A32: This was specified: “There shall be two (2) receiver type assemblies made from receiver stock installed under the body on each side of the vehicle. There shall be one (1) tie-off point below the left and right front corners of the cab and one (1) rear tie-off point on each side of the body immediately behind rear wheels. The receiver stock shall be bolted directly to chassis frame rails with outside edges of hitches flush mounted with the outside surface of the body. Steel "D" rings shall be permanently installed at end of receivers. The tie-offs shall be able to withstand a 9000 lb inline pull and a 6000 lb lateral pull between the tie offs. Consult with PFA at the pre-construction conference for details and locations regarding the installation of the receivers.” Q33: Page 43: What are lengths of the four (4) NY hooks? A33: 6’ Q34: Page 44: Who is responsible for costs associated with inspection trips as specified? A34: PFA is responsible.
