Page 3 (of 13 pages) - BID PROPOSAL- states that the bid is for Backflow Testing and Repair of "approx. 300 various sites in the City of Fort Collins". On page 4 (BID SCHEDULE) provided for bid costs - items # 1 and 2 ask a dollar amount for (76) PVB and (55) RP's. That would total 131. The description of "approx. 300 sites" would seem to imply 300 backflows. Are these figures accurate? Or are we misinterpreting the description of the 300 sites? Yes. 300 is very close to accurate. 2. Is it possible to get a listing of the various sites that are included in this quote (prior to bidding)? No. We will provide the list to the vendor awarded the contract. 3. Is the "3 years of consistent, hands on experience" in backflow testing an absolute required criteria for bid submission? As it would seem that if you are a properly certified Cross-Connection Control Tester by the State of Colorado, and have the correctly calibrated and required test equipment- you are therefore qualified to do this work, in particular if the tester has over 20 years’ experience in commercial and residential irrigation, as well as backflow installation. If this is the case, would a submitted bid be accepted? Yes, the three years’ experience is required. 4. Does the City have some or more repair parts available? We stock a minimum amount of parts. We purchase parts as needed. 5. How about the Parks Dept.? The awarded firm will supply parts for repairs per the contract guidelines. 6. Will the City use its own supplier to purchase repair parts? When we make in-house repairs we buy from a number of suppliers but typically just two or three depending on availability and brand needed. 7. Is this bid for all irrigation service? Yes at least for Parks. If other departments utilize the services it could be for other system types such as fire systems. 8. Is there an attachment number of backflows and locations available? Yes there is and that information will be provided to the vendor awarded the contract. 9. Is there grey water involved? No grey water system for Fort Collins Parks. Addendum 1 – 8076 Backflow Assembly Testing & Reapir Page 3 of 3 10. Is a designated test kit required? No as long as it meets all state requirements and is calibrated and certified as required. 11. Are reports submitted to BSI? If so does the unit price need to include filing fee? This is relatively new to the City but they are submitted to BSI at the City’s expense. 12. Are any permits required? If so will the City pay for it? None other than the Cross Connection certification. If it’s not in the scope of work and there is a situation that requires a permit, the City will be responsible for the permit cost.
