• Plan Sheets – Prepared by: BHA Design • Specification Book – Prepared by: City of Fort Collins & BHA Design • Subgrade Investigation – Prepared by: CTL Thompson 10/14/2014 4 7 CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION • Two contracts from single bid (one for each municipality) – Bid tab is separated by municipality • Some “Lump Sum” items have 1 quantity per municipality – Payments will be made by Fort Collins and Windsor separately • All local funds – Project will be managed as single project – Contract times WILL run concurrently 8 CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION • Potentially long lead time on stone and photo- voltaic (PV) systems • City/Town will issue Notice to Proceed to allow contractor to order materials • City/Town will issue delayed Notice to Mobilize once materials are acquired 10/14/2014 5 9 PROJECT LIMITS 10 SUMMARY OF WORK • Removals – clearing & grubbing, boulders • Protect the underdrain located around inside perimeter of median – hand dig to field verify location prior to excavation • Install base and foundations • Install Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) core • Attach sandstone face and stone sections • Attach City/Town lettering • Install photo-voltaic (PV) solar panel unit & lighting • Reinstall boulders • Install landscaping – field modifications of irrigation • Provide traffic control (approved through CDOT) 10/14/2014 6 11 SUMMARY OF WORK • Construction Staking – Provided by the City of Fort Collins – 48 hours (minimum) required for notification • Known Utilities – CDOT traffic conduit crossing western median (Fort Collins side) – no anticipated conflict • Testing – Paid for by City/Town through CTL Thompson – City will schedule testing as required 12 SUMMARY OF WORK • Staging/Stockpiling – Permission from CDOT to use up to 7 parking stalls in the Park & Ride lot southwest of interchange – Must vacate Park & Ride within 30 days upon notice from CDOT or City – Recommend contractor documents existing condition of staging/stockpiling area prior to use – Contractor will be responsible for the repair of damaged staging/stockpiling areas 10/14/2014 7 13 SUMMARY OF WORK 14 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Liquidated Damages – Substantial Completion If the Contractor goes past the 45 calendar days for substantial completion, damages in the amount of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) for each contract day will be assessed through each contract – $800.00 total 10/14/2014 8 15 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Substantial Completion – Defined Completion and acceptance of: Removals, topsoil placement, grading, concrete foundation, CMU core, sandstone installation, lettering installation, lighting installation, PV system installation, boulder reinstallation 16 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Liquidated Damages – Final Acceptance If the Contractor goes past the 15 calendar days for final acceptance, damages in the amount of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) for each contract day will be assessed through each contract – $800.00 total • Final Acceptance – Defined Completion and acceptance of: fine grading, landscaping installation, completed punch list items 10/14/2014 9 17 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Project Coordination Meetings – Weekly on-site meetings – Contractor to update schedule weekly – Contractor may be required to submit additional schedules dependent on progress of the project 18 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Construction Hours – Working hours are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday – CDOT non-working holidays apply – No lane closures are permitted before 9:00 am or after 3:00 pm – Exceptions to working hours must be approved by the City of Fort Collins AND CDOT 10/14/2014 10 19 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Special Considerations – SH 392 is a state highway managed by CDOT – Project has an approved variance for auxiliary lane closure (storage lane next to median) for prescribed working hours – Contractor must abide by CDOT regulations, including days where lane closure is not permitted (holidays, weekends) – Contractor shall not stockpile material in the medians which could pose a hazard to the travelling public 20 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS 10/14/2014 11 21 HIGHLIGHTS OF GENERAL CONDITIONS • Haul Routes – Arterial and collector streets ONLY.
