Remington Greemvay — Add #1— Construction Plans
Project Description and Scope of Services

Attached is the project scope and description: Items related to this additional service request are bold italics
and summarized at the end of this letter.
Description
Interwest will work with your department as well as BHA and ALTA to create a conceptual plan for the mini -
roundabout at Laurel and Remington as a part of the Remington Greenway project. This phase of the project will
also define the scope for the final construction project (bulb -outs, stormwater treatment facilities, etc.). Once the
construction project layout is defined, a second work order for the construction plans will be prepared.
This additional service request is related to the final construction documents far the corridor.
Scope of Services
1. Base Map Preparation — Interwest will assemble existing aerial photography, parcel maps, and City
Lidar data into a base file for use by the team. Additionally, a base map of the City provided survey will
be prepared for the Remington and Laurel Intersection. Interwest will add tope information at the
Elizabeth Street intersection and the rain garden area.
Estimated Fee: $2,000 —ADD $1,500
2. Remington and Laurel Mini -Roundabout Conceptual Plans — Interwest will work with the City and
the Team to create a roundabout layout that is suitable for the intersection and meets the project budget.
At this time it is assumed that all work will be in existing right of way, the City will provide pavement
design and surveying.
Estimated Fee: $5,000
3. Meetings/Coordination/Corridor Scoping — Interwest will attend meetings and coordinate with the
team and City. This task includes working with the team to determine locations of bulb -outs and water
quality facilities in the corridor and Scoping the final construction documents for the project.
Estimate Fee $2,000- ADD $4,000
4. Intersection Construction Plans — Interwest prepare demolition plans, grading plans, and construction
details for the Laurel and Elizabeth Intersections.
Estimate Fee $12,000
5. Typical Intersection Improvement Details — Interwest prepare generic details and quantities for
hardscape bulbouts in the existing asphalt for improvements at Lake, Magnolia and Olive as well as the
west side of Remington north of the UCA.
Estimate Fee $5,000
6. Rain Garden Design — Interwest prepare plans for one Rain Garden without an underdrain at the UCA.
It is assumed that this will be bid as a lump sum item and that Stormwater and Engineering will give
direction on requirements for the feature.
Estimate Fee $4,000
7. Signing and Striping Plans — Interwest will prepare signing and striping plans at the direction of the City
(Engineering, FCMoves, and Traffic). This work will be done by City crews and will not be quantified.
The design of specialty signs is not included.
Estimate Fee $4,000
8. Erosion Control Plan and Report — Interwest will prepare a City standard erosion control plan and
report for the areas where construction will occur. At this time, this only includes Lake, UCA, Elizabeth,
Laurel, Magnolia and Olive.
Estimate Fee $3,000
Total of Original PO: $9,000
Total Additional Services #I: $33,500

Assumptions
1. Interwest will have no subconsultants on this project. Surveying, environmental services, utility locating
and potholing, property acquisition, structural design, landscape architecture, and signal design will be
provided by others (as nceessary).Geotechnical exploration and report (with pavement and earthwork
recommendations) will be provided by others if needed.
2. A drainage report will not be required.
3. Specifications and bid documents will be prepared by the City.
4. Interwest will not provide CM or CA services.
Schedule
We can proceed immediately with the project. Assuming that the City is timely answering design questions and
making design decisions, we will be able to complete this design work in early February. Please call me at 970-
