1 Reason For Change:
a.
In an effort to meet a deadline initiated by the traffic department, SMP needed to ask Martin Marietta to
work on a Saturday. Due to the current restrictions Martin Marietta has on their Asphalt plant located on
Taft Hill Rd, they needed to haul the material from Greeley to meet our schedule. This change order is to
pay for the difference In haul prices by getting material from the Greeley plant vs the Taft Hill Rd plant.
b. Due to the City Stripers being overwhelmed with the amount of SMP projects and the loss of people,
the Traffic Department has requested that we contract out our striping needs on the Asphalt Overlay
Contract bid# 7222
2 Description Of Change:

The deadline SMP needed to meet was the start date of the work on the Mulberry bridge by CDOT.
When they were planning to close Mulberry from Lemay Ave to Riverside Ave, Timberline Rd was to
become a major detour route for semi and highway traffic. In order to complete the work, SMP agreed
to pay the difference In haul pricing to get material out of the Greeley plant for Saturday work. This
allowed a timely start for the COOT project, and lowered the impact to the traveling public
SMP needs to add a total of 5line items directly associated with the striping of the roadway post
overlay. There line items cover the layout and placement of thermoplastic materials used In
crosswalks, buffered bike lanes, bike stencils, etc., and the layout and placement of the painted
striping lines. As these tasks will be completed by separate sub contractors through Marlin Marietta,
the line items need to be separated and on an hourly and per gallon rate. See the line items below.
