Check for leaks in the chilled water system. Checked the
chiller for possible water leak in the evaporator. Checked
building piping and pumps. Found an air bleed that was oV 4
damaged and was leaking and a small leak at the bottom o
the header of the chilled water coil. Replaced two of the
chilled water air bleeds and checked system. I PV 4

Rob reported that they had added 15 gallons of glycol mix to
the make up tank in the past two days. When 1 arrived the
make-up tank level was half. So of that 15 gallons added, 12
to 13 gallons had been pumped into the system in 2 days. I
checked the evaporator bundle to see if there was any water
in it and found it had refrigerant that smelled clean. I looked
for leaks all over the system as Tom had done before me.
The only thing I found was the expansion or compression
tank was almost water logged. This is an air to water tank
with a gage glass. It would appear the upper valve of the
gage glass has allowed the air to escape from the tank. I
suggested they replace this tank with a bladder type tank.
The tank volume is about 10 to 12 gallons, about the amount
that of glycol mix that has been added. The chilled water coil
is leaking at the header again, same place as this past
spring. But there is only a small amount of water on the floor.
No other leaks were visible. Will follow up with a bid for the
tank replacement.

Was called back, the system was still loosing volume. Found
the air tank for expansion had lost its air pocket and had
water logged. Will get a price for a bladder style tank for
repair and waft for approval.
