As we discussed yesterday, the scope of work includes the items described below. • Excavation and loading of sand that was deposited in Sterling Pond. Excavation started last week and was completed today (September 8). Hauling is scheduled for the week of September 15. • Additional earthwork items for McMurry. These activities include riprap installation around base of land below power pole and topsoil placement. This work is being completed today. • Approximately 640 #5-gallon trees and shrubs will be planted per the revised shrub planting plan submitted 914/14. Shrub holes will be excavated with a mini -excavator. Soil will be placed in the bottom of the hole, and the plants will be mulched with wood chips. This work started today and is scheduled through September 12. • —2,000 reserved wet meadow plugs will be planted in the sand deposit area at Sterling (-0. 4 acres at 3- ft spacing). Also, 2,350 wet meadow plugs will be planted in the sand deposit area at McMurry (-0.5 acres at 3-ft spacing). The mix of reserved species may be adjusted based on availability as previously discussed to reduce the amount of Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum). This work is scheduled for September 22 to 26. • Prior to wetland planting, goose fencing will be installed around both McMurry and Sterling planting zones in the sand deposits. Because the revised planting plans result in approximately 350 unused 5-gallon plants from the grow -hold contract with Aquatic & Wetland, we are in discussions about the possibility of trading out these extra #5 containers for the wetland plants needed for the McMurry sand deposit area. The mix of shrub species at Sterling will be adjusted to reduce the number of False indigo to around 40 plants and to add around 20 Rabbit brush. Our fee to conduct the additional work will be on a time and materials basis in accordance with our 2014 contract rates, with an estimated not -to -exceed budget of $67,000, depending on the final plant and fencing material costs. Thank you for your consideration of this request and for the opportunity to continue to assist you on this project. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at (303) 477-0660. Sincerely, Claudia Browne, Project Manager
