• BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS
Bidders interested in submitting quotes must meet the following requirements:
1. Must currently be operating as a carpet maintenance business and be established and
operating as same for the past five (5) years.
Porter Industries has maintained millions of square feet of carpet for over 40 years and has
formally operated a commercial carpet -care division since 1998.
2. Technicians to be IICRC Certified (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, Restoration
Certification)
in commercial carpet cleaning. Manager must have a minimum of 5 years experience in
commercial carpet maintenance and to be IICRC certified in multiple disciplines such as
upholstery, stain removal, etc.
Luke Speckien, the lead carpet technician for the City of Fort Collins has been an IICRC
certified technician for nearly ten years and the carpet division advisor, Ken Sargent, is an
IICRC master textile cleaner and senior carpet inspector with over twenty years in the carpet
maintenance industry.
3. Must have successfully completed a minimum of 10,000 square feet yearly using the
Crystallization/Encapsulation cleaning method (mist and scrub). (May substitute Milicare
experience).
Porter Industries has maintained at least 50,000 square feet annually of carpet using mist &
• scrub methodology in the following accounts: Weld County, City of Loveland, City of Greeley,
Harmony Corporate Center, LSI Logic, Swift and Company, Larimer County, etc.
4. Must have successfully completed a minimum of 20,000 square feet of maintenance
yearly using a truck mount hot water extractor. Has also completed restorative carpet
cleaning.
Porter Industries has maintained at least 200,000 square feet annually of carpet using truck -
mounted, hot-water extraction in the following accounts: First National Banks, Weld County, City
of Loveland, Larimer County, LSI Logic, etc.
5. Must have successfully cleaned upholstered furniture and fabric dividers in a
commercial
setting.
Porter Industries has cleaned furniture and fabric dividers in large commercial settings such as:
Intel, First National Bank, City of Loveland, Swift & Company, State Farm Insurance (Regional
facility) etc.
6. Must identify jobs where the bidder has used the crystallization/encapsulation method
(mist and scrub), where the truck mount hot water extraction technique was used and
where bidder has commercially cleaned upholstered furniture. Use exhibit C (included in
this Bid Request package) to indicate the job name, address, job site, name and
telephone number of person available to be contacted by the City representative
• regarding job performance.
Please see Exhibit C — Upholstery cleaning has been performed at all sites listed
7. Must provide a list of all the equipment and cleaning chemicals to be used to maintain
the carpet as specified.

can be agitated within five (5) minutes) with properly mixed Crystal Dry CDX-2 (Green
Seal Certified)
