The Opening Date has changed to 3:00 PM (our clock) on March 27, 2014. 2. Mason St. 2nd Floor PO Box 580 Fort Collins, CO 80522 970.221.6775 970.221.6707 fcgov.com/purchasing Addendum 1 – 7611 Fencing at Soapstone Natural Area Page 2 of 6 EXHIBIT A – CHANGES TO THE SPECIFICATIONS Changes are as follows: 1) All work shall be completed within 120 days of notice to proceed, with additional days allowed for inclement weather/conditions at the City’s discretion. In the bid it was listed as 90 days. If the Bernard bison project is delayed by the City, an amended timeline between the City and contractor will be agreed upon. If contractor has to leave the work site after the Brannigan project due to a delay in the Bernard project by the City, and additional mobilization charge may be charged by the contractor to cover costs of remobilizing. 2) You must use the following bid schedule. 3) The City will award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the total of the Brannigan Fence, Bernard Fence and Bernard Fence Upgrade. Bernard Bison Pasture Fencing Project 4) Installation of new fencing along existing fence alignment will require removal and proper off-site disposal (preferably recycling) of existing fence. There is up to approx. 37,000 ln. ft. of existing fencing that will need to be removed. Please list cost per ln. ft. of existing fence removal and off-site disposal. 5) The “upgrade” section is actually approx. 8,000 ln. ft., not 8,300 ln. ft. 6) The remaining distance of new fencing is up to approx. 47,800 ln ft, not up to 34,000 ln. ft. 7) The Bernard Pasture Map (attached) has been updated with new information and correct distances. 8) All wire shall be standard 12 ½ ga wire meeting ASTM 121, Class 1 standards, not high tensile wire. 9) All steel t-posts shall be standard weight 1.33 lbs./ft., not 1.25 lbs./ft. Length shall be 7 feet tall, not 7 ½ feet tall. All wood line posts shall be 5” diameter, not 6”. Wood line posts shall be 7 feet tall. Top of all wood and t-posts shall be a minimum of 66” above ground to allow for an additional wire to be installed in the future if needed. 10) Wood brace posts for corner/gate/h-braces shall be 6” at the top of post, not 8”, and 8 feet in length, not 9 feet in length. 11) Wood cross braces for corner/h-braces shall be 4”, not 6”. 12) H braces shall be spaced at a maximum of 800 ln. ft., not 1,320 ln. ft. 13) Wire spacing shall be as follows: a. Top Wire – 52” above ground, not 60” b. Second Wire – 40” above ground, not 48” c. Third Wire – 32” above ground, not 38” Addendum 1 – 7611 Fencing at Soapstone Natural Area Page 3 of 6 d. Fourth Wire – 25” above ground, not 28” e. Bottom Wire – Remains 18” above ground 14) For “upgrade” section of fence, the spec shall now be: a. One standard weight 6 ½ foot 1.33 lbs./ft steel t-post be placed halfway in between each wood or metal line post. b. Replace existing gate and end posts, and the center post in each existing double line brace, with 6” diameter 8 foot posts. c. Add one 12 ½ ga, Class 1 smooth wire at 54” above ground, a minimum of 12” above existing top wire d. Replace existing pipe gates with new 5’ tall pipe gates. City will retain the existing gates. Brannigan Cattle Fencing Project 1) All wire shall be standard 12 ½ ga wire meeting ASTM 121, Class 1 standards, not high tensile wire. 2) All t-posts shall be standard weight 1.33 lbs./ft., not 1.25 lbs./ft. 3) H braces shall be spaced at a maximum of 800 feet, not 1,320 feet.
