QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Sample Project - Traffic Operations example:
1. Will Traffic supply the vaults?
Yes
2. How many vaults total?
There are 4 total, one for each corner.
3. On the East side of College, do we hand trench to connect each crossing? And is
there only one vault on each corner?
Bore all 4 crossings and hand trench as necessary to tie in vaults to bores
from each direction.
4. Are we potholing at the caisson area to make sure there are no utilities, or are we
actually opening up a hole 3 feet in diameter and 15 feet deep?
Example includes a complete 3' X 15' excavation for a caisson (typically
due to utility conflicts).
5. If its opening up the caisson hole, is there going to be a line item?
Expectation is to use the mud vac machine line item. If there is a line item
to add that would be more appropriate, please note.
6. How many potholes should we figure for the entire intersection?
Assume 24 potholes.
Sample Project – L & P example:
1. What size conduit from oval to secondary boxes.
The answer is 4".
