As you have been informed by email, your firm has been selected for an oral interview
for our Request for Proposal 7548 Midtown College Ave Corridor Plan.
Your interview will occur on September 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Conference Room 1A
located at.215 N Mason Street in Fort Collins.
For the interview, you will have 15 minutes for a formal presentation in response to the
requirements of the Request for Proposal and then there will be a question and answer
period of 45 minutes.
We look forward to hearing more about your approach to the Midtown College Avenue
Corridor Plan. The final outcome is intended to transform College Avenue into a world
class street. We want to hear from you and your team what that means to you and
how we get there. Considering the following:
- This is not a capacity project, we know College will be 6 lanes now and in the
future
- This is a US highway, owned and operated by CDOT
- Despite the desire to include bicycles there is a history of official prohibition of
bicycling on College
- Widening may prove difficult, how can the existing rights -of -way best be utilized
- There are competing interests for the function of College; keeping traffic flowing
as quickly as possible (for regional traffic and business access) vs. becoming
more bicycle and pedestrian friendly
- How do improvements to College Avenue relate to success of the Mason
Corridor MAX Bus Rapid Transit
- The vision for the Midtown area including College Avenue has been developed
within the Midtown Plan, this College Avenue study is really the first
implementation of that vision
We are looking for a dynamic and responsive team that can help create an innovative
and realistic design to make College Avenue a world class street.
For your information, the other firms selected for oral interviews are:
LSA Associates
Fox Tuttle Transportation Group
We appreciate the time expended by your firm in preparing your written response, and
look forward to your oral presentation.
