• Remove existing New Mercer Ditch crossing
structures on Prospect Road and replace with a
single cast-in-place box culvert.
• Maintain 2-way traffic on Prospect Road at all times
• Install concrete pavement, sidewalk, and curb.
• Install urban design elements that include concrete
columns, stone veneer & decorative steel railing.

CONDITIONS AND GENERAL REQ’S:
• SUPERINTENDENTS:
o The General Contractor SHALL employ a full time Superintendent whose
sole responsibility is to monitor and coordinate all facets of the work
• LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:
o SUBSTANIAL COMPLETION:
• The contractor will need to meet substantial completion requirements
within 150 days of construction start date. Substantial completion shall
be defined as the completion of all earthwork, pavement, sidewalk, curb
and gutter, and any other pertinent items as required for this project. If
the Contractor goes past the 90 calendar days for substantial
completion, damages in the amount of One Thousand Four Hundred
Dollars ($1,400.00) for each calendar day will be assessed.
o FINAL ACCEPTANCE:
Final acceptance must be met within 14 calendar days of substantial
completion. Liquidated damages in the amount of One Thousand Four
Hundred Dollars ($1,400.00) per calendar day will be charged if this
schedule has not been met.

• Cyclists can merge with vehicular traffic.
• A single sidewalk across the New Mercer Ditch needs

• One thru lane in each direction needs to remain open
at all times.

• PROGRESS AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS:
Schedules shall be updated weekly. The Contractor may be
required to submit additional schedules depending on the
progress of the project.
HAUL ROUTES:
Arterial and Collector streets only. Contractor will not be
allowed to use residential streets to access the site with
trucks hauling materials.

• SITE CLEAN-UP:
• The construction work shall be kept and accomplished in a
neat, clean and orderly fashion.
• Tracking pads and street sweeping will need to be used in
order to minimize tracking and meet EPA storm water quality
requirements.

EROSION CONTROL - SWMP
• Ground disturbance is under 1 Acre. A SWMP from the Colorado
Dept of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is not required.
• Control of jobsite sediment is still required by the City of Fort
Collins Engineering Dept. An erosion control plan is provided with
the plan drawings and needs to be implemented.
• The Erosion Control Supervisor will need to meet with the Project
Engineer and Contract Superintendent at least every 14 days and
within 24 hours of storm/snowmelt events.

new structure.
– City of Fort Collins Water Utility has an existing 12” DIP in a 24”
encasement that will be removed, lowered, and replaced per supplied
drawings in addendum #1 by the contractor.
– City has an overhead streetlight that City L&P will remove and
reinstall.

System (CDPS) general permit for management of groundwater from
CDPHE Water Quality Control Division, as determined necessary. A
completed application must be submitted to CDPHE at least four
weeks prior to dewatering operations.
• Payment for all work for Dewatering including preparation of the
Dewatering Plan and all work for Section 250 will not be measured and
paid for separately but shall be included in the work. Permitting,
removal, sample collection, analytical testing, containerization,
transportation, and disposal or treatment of all contaminated
groundwater will not be paid for separately but shall be included in the
work.
