Addendum 1 – 7534 Air Barrier Work at Existing Senior Center Page 1 of 4
EXHIBIT 1 – QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
1. Will the contractor be required to move items on the floor to get scaffolding in place to
perform scope of work?
The City of Fort Collins will provide personnel to move tables, chairs and other movable
items out away from the work areas so the contractor can get their equipment in for
performing the work. The contractor will be required to protect the surrounding areas
while performing their work.
2. Will the contractor be required to remove and replace suspended ceilings to perform scope
of work?
The City of Fort Collins will have personnel remove a portion of ceiling tile and grid
(except mains) so the contractor has access to the work area. The City will put the
ceilings back once work has been completed. The contractor shall take precautions to
protect and not damage the materials left in place.
3. Will the contractor be required to move light fixtures at the perimeter of the building to get
access to perform scope of work?
The City of Fort Collins will have personnel move the light fixtures that are preventing
the contractor from having access along the perimeter walls where work is to take
place.
4. Will the contractor have access around the existing building for performing the scope of
work?
There is a concrete drive around the entire building, but this will still give you limited
access in some locations. The contractor will still need roughly 200 LF of hose to reach
areas from their truck.
5. We understand the air barrier system is not being installed at the entire existing building
perimeter, can you provide a floor plan showing the areas you need the air barrier system
installed?
See attached drawings
6. There are some conduits fastened to the perimeter walls, how is this to be handled.
The conduits will be encapsulated into the new air barrier system. If there are any
junction boxes to get covered up they will need to be identified and allow the City
electrician time to correct the situation.
7. Building schedule:
The Senior Center is open 357 days a year from 7:00 am to 9:30 pm.
July 29 – Aug 11 2013 the pool area will be closed for maintenance and repairs.
Aug 4 – Aug 11 2013 the remaining building will be closed for maintenance and repairs
except the multi-purpose rooms will be need to be available for a wedding on August
10, 2013.
Any work not completed during the 2013 building shutdown would need to be
coordinated with the facility room schedules or be conducted during off hours and ready
for business the next day.
