Change Order Proposal #23 Growling Bear Inc. was requested to provide Change Order Proposal #23 to enable the completion of the tie-in of the water main within the easement granted by Spradley-Barr for this project. In order to accomplish the tie-in, the existing backflow preventer on the fire line feeding Spradley-Barr will need to be removed, along with the vault that it is in so we can tie-in the water line in that space. This change involves installing a new Reduced Pressure Backflow Preventer that complies with Fort Collins Loveland Water District requirements, in the fire riser room in the Spradley-Barr facility that will allow us to remove the existing backflow preventer. With this new backflow device in place we will be able to tie-in the water line within the easement and complete the water line loop designed into this project without having to go outside of the existing easement. The labor, materials and equipment costs proposed by Growling Bear Inc. were evaluated against an Independent Cost Estimate and are consistent with pricing for similar work. As such, I find the cost of this Change Order Proposal from Growling Bear Inc. in the amount of $9,604.40 to be reasonable for the required increase in scope. As such, I recommend acceptance of this additional cost to the contract. Change Order Proposal #16 Growling Bear Inc. was requested to provide Change Order Proposal #16 in response to AS] #1 and subsequent clarifications. This request changed the route of the fiber optic conduits from the west side of the building in order to utilize the trenches already being dug to the light poles in the parking tot on the east side of the building. This request also Included all of the conduits needed for the installation of the security cameras mounted on the light poles, a feed to the monument sign and a feed to the emergency phone tower. This request also included conduits going to the Century Link pedestal and to an added vault at the corner of Fairway and Fossil for the completion of the fiber optic loop for the entire MAX Project. Additionally, sand and flow fill were added to the trench containing the fiber optic conduits as they ran under the parking lot. This routing of the fiber optic conduits also provided the avenue for providing connectivity to the College and Fairway traffic from a Traffic vault located at Harmony Road. The labor, materials and equipment costs proposed by Growling Bear Inc. were evaluated against an Independent Cost Estimate and are consistent with pricing for similar work. As such, I find the cost of this Change Order Proposal from Growling Bear Inc. in the amount of $1Z630.53 to be reasonable for the required increase in scope.
