RE: MAX Bus Rapid Transit Project — Transfort Maintenance Facility Expansion 7426
Independent Cost Analysis — Change Order No. 6
Heath Construction Pricing Change Request #11
Heath Construction was requested to provide Pricing Change Request #11 in order to provide a Methane
Detection system for the addition and chassis wash. This system was an addition to the existing system
placed in the Transfort Maintenance Facility in 2010. We were able to use existing ports in the system
controller to add the six detectors in the addition, since the original system was sized to accommodate the
addition. The detectors for the chassis wash addition had to be more capable units that will provide
stand-alone capability that feeds back to the main control panel. A couple of iterations of the Pricing
Change Request (PCR) were provided by the contractor in an effort to get the pricing in line. The
contractor was then able to provide a proposal that was acceptable and PCR #11 was sent to me on
August 281h. This PCR provides all of the components necessary for a complete Methane Detection
System for the Transfort Maintenance Facility. Since this work will be done late in the project and the
projected completion date is after the current Substantial Completion date, Heath Construction has
requested a time extension of 19 days to complete this work, which I fully support.
The labor, materials and equipment costs proposed by Heath Construction were evaluated against an
Independent Cost Estimate and are consistent with pricing for similar work. As such, I find the cost of this
Proposed Change Request #11 from Heath Construction converted into Change Order No. 6 in the
amount of $19,548.52 to be reasonable for the required increase in scope. As such, I recommend
acceptance of this additional cost to the contract and the 19 day time extension.
