Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Plan Summary Document Owner Christopher Steffen Document Version 2.0.2 Last Reviewed Date October 2012 Kroll Factual Data Classification – For Internal Use. Kroll Factual Data is primarily structured as a technology based corporation and is dependent upon computer-supported information processing and telecommunications. The increasing dependency on computers and telecommunications for operational support poses the risk that a lengthy loss of these capabilities could seriously affect the overall performance of the company. A Business Impact Analysis (BIA) identified several systems as Critical to business operation. It also categorized a majority of company functions as Essential to business operations. The BIA will be conducted on a regular basis to ensure that changes to our processing and environment are reflected in recovery planning. Kroll Factual Data recognizes the low probability of severe damage to data processing, telecommunications or support services capabilities that support the company. Nevertheless, because of the potential impact to KFD and our customers, a plan for reducing the risk of damage from a disaster however unlikely is vital. The company's Disaster Recovery Plan is designed to ensure the restoration of Critical business operations within 12 hours, and all Essential business operations within 48 hours of the outage. The Disaster Recovery Plan identifies the Critical functions of KFD and the necessary required resources. It also provides guidelines for ensuring that needed personnel and resources are available for both disaster preparation and response and that the proper steps will be carried out to permit the timely restoration of services. Recovery Objectives Critical Processing Essential Processing RPO (Recovery Point Objective) (Acceptable hours of data loss) 4 hours 8 hours RTO (Recovery Time Objective) (Service restoration in hours) 12 hours 48 hours Kroll Factual Data Classification – For Internal Use. Assumptions This Disaster Recovery Plan is predicated on the validity of the following assumptions: - The situation that causes the disaster is localized to the data processing facility of Operations and Systems in the 5100 Data Center; the building or space housing the functional area; or to the communication systems and networks that support the functional area. It should be noted that the Plan will still be functional and effective even in an area-wide disaster. Even though the basic priorities for restoration of essential services to the community will normally take precedence over the recovery of an individual organization, the company's Disaster Recovery Plan can still provide for a more expeditious restoration of our resources for supporting key functions. - The Plan is based on the availability of the hot site or the back-up resources. The accessibility of these, or equivalent back-up resources, is a critical requirement. - The Plan is a document that reflects the changing environment and requirements of KFD. Therefore, the Plan requires the continued allocation of resources to maintain it and to keep it in a constant state of readiness. Maintenance Ensuring that the Plan reflects ongoing changes to resources is crucial. This task includes updating the Plan and revising this document to reflect updates; testing the updated Plan; and training personnel. Quarterly, the Disaster Recovery Plan undergoes a more formal review to confirm the incorporation of all changes since the prior quarter. Annually, the Disaster Recovery Plan will undergo a complete review, which could result in major revisions to this document, as well as the detailed plan. These revisions will be distributed to all authorized personnel, who exchange their old plans for the newly revised plans. At that time an annual status report on Disaster Recovery planning will be reviewed and approved by the Chief Information Officer for KFD. Testing Testing the Disaster Recovery Plan is an essential element of preparedness. Regular testing will occur at a minimum of 4 times a year. A comprehensive exercise of our DR capabilities and support by our designated recovery facilities will be performed on an annual basis Address New Berlin, WI 53151 Listing Type Residence Phone Type Resident Excluded Parties Evidence No similar records found Disclaimer The information provided in this risk assessment, including all results, alerts, scores, and actions, is the product of (i) data submitted by the client, (ii) data retrieved by the KFD proprietary systems, (iii) analysis by KFD's proprietary software, and (iv) client interaction.
