Attached find three (3) sets each of contract documents regarding the above -mentioned matter.
The bidder received the award through the normal BID process.
a. The Streets Department has no concerns or issues. This contract is one of the Street
Maintenance Program's standard maintenance contracts. We have an experienced
contractor, Martin Marietta Materials (formerly known as Lafarge), so we expect an
efficient project with excellent workmanship once again.
b. All funding is in place and secured. Funding is from a combination of KFCG funds
and Street Maintenance Program funding.
c. The agreement with Martin Marietta Materials is a straightforward asphalt overlay
and patching street maintenance contract. Martin Marietta Materials successfully
completed the Street Department's asphalt overlay contract in 2011 and renewal in
2012. This renewal would represent the second of three one-year renewal options
with one more optional year remaining.
Jody, would you approve as to form and forward to the City Manager.
Darin, would you please sign the contract documents and forward them to the City Clerk.
Rita, please call Purchasing, John will come over, sign and initial the contracts and have you
attest his signature. Thanks.
